Quick tip, you do not need VTF Editor as Blender can directly export to TGA Format.

Yeah, definitely. you can draw in any software and add the image the same way we did in this video. Instead of our texture we just select the file we want to use

on 2:00 when u select the skin on editing mode and the pieces go on the texture so that u can see what u paint your pieces all go inside the square, mine go over the edges so that i cant paint them so what should i do?

Did you set the size of the texture correctly? When you have selected all the pieces you can use 'S' to scale them.

For drawing check some blender tutorials. Don't forget to select material that you have created in 'material' tab (lower righ Earth like icon), than in UV editor at top of the window choose your skin, in edit mod select all and than head to "texture painting". I hope this helps a little. It's hard to explain without video. But you should check some blender youtubers like " Ryan King" and "Blender guru". They have plenty of begginer and advanced blender tutorials. They are the best and most of the things that i have learend, enough to make my own models and publish at Unity and Unreal marketplace. Can't wait to try this skin editing and to publish my own skins and to play woth them in CS2 finally 😊

First off, good video man. I'm having a bit of a problem here. For some reason the skin is not properly applied to the weapon model in game. I imported the model of the usp-s into blender and created the image and the material. After drawing my skin I saved the image to skin.png file onto my pc. Then I used vtfedit to export it to an tga file and copied that file to materials/custom/skin.tga. The game is able to "load" the skin, but it is not properly shown on the gun model. Anybody with a similar problem or even an solution?

Hi, Great video! However I have encountered a problem. When I project an image (illustration) to the mesh, it looks good in Blender and the texture is fine. I export it as a targa and when it comes into CS2, it looks pixelated and there are blocky artifacts. I also tried Substance Painter and the same thing is happening. I don't know what's causing it. I'm using 4k texture resolution for custom paint job and gunsmith. If you know what I'm doing wrong and have a solution, please let me know. Thank you! 🙏

They might not downscale the images so, try down scaling the texture to 2048x2048 and see if it fixes!
