Fantastic guide! In cases where you're inundated with procs (e.g. frozen orb/veins periods) do you cast flurry without a frost bolt to avoid wasting time/procs?

Are you using Ice Nova after the Cone of Cold proc or before? Also, if you have your orb and blizzard going and are full on fingers of frost procs, do you priortize using flurry to get it on cool down before spaming the fingers of frost procs with ice lance or just keep using all the finger procs and ignore flurry? Finally, do you just use Ice Nova on cool down or hold it for the CoC proc?

Really good guide and video. I have a question. Don't we have to pre cast Blizzard on pull and then instant Orb, so we have more freedom to use our lances on pull ? I think u lose 1 global when u cast frozen orb and then instant blizzard, right ? The Pre cast Blizzard should be empowered either way

I feel a lot of folks are underestimating the value of subzero. Did something change? Last I heard subzero was maintaining near 50% uptime due to frostbite.

Arcane and Frost are both ahead of Fire numbers wise. However fire still has useful damage profiles (execute for example) and survivability (cheat death) so it's still a solid progression spec!

What should i use first when i have flurry and iclance procs? And should i use flurry without proc at cd? My english is to bad.

The frost rotation seems simple but I find myself asking what do I do in the following situations: 1. I have two charges of fingers of frost AND flurry proc (not the regular flurry) Do I dump the fingers with ice lance right then? Or do I frostbolt->flurry->ice lance ice lance? And what about this situation but with one fingers of frost? Also, as more general questions: With frost orb, I find myself have so many procs I barely ever cast frost bolt. Just endless ice lance. Is it supposed to be like that? This spec doesn’t have that many abilities but there are so many passives it’s hard to keep them straight. Enjoying the spec overall though

I noticed everyone skips over the one talent that resets icy nova faster. When you combine icy nova with groups pulling +5 mobs you do insane amounts of damage. I’m always top overall - it also resets other CDs as well. However you do have to give up dragon’s breath. So I guess you have to value extra dps or a disorient

Dragons breath is such a valuable utility spell that’s the problem. Usually in high keys it’s more about controlling the mobs rather than your dps on the meters. If your group can manage without dragons breath or you’re doing low keys then by all means don’t take it!

Hi, really nice guide! I was just wondering how you get as you had it so i dont have to leftclick every blizzard but instead just hover my targets and cast blizzard as you did on the aoe example. I feel like i loose alot of time and missclicking alot whenever i have to cast blizzard, left click, then continue. Would much appreciate the help. Thank you :)

What does the rotation look like on very high mob counts, like 10+ mobs? I have seen people use shifting power in those situations, but I am not sure what is the optimal priority.

First of all good video and guide. I do have a question. In Shadowlands you always used all fingers of frost before the brainfreeze proc. Example: 1 fingers of frost proc up (by frozen orb for example) and brainfreeze proc ready, casting Frostbolt right now. In shadowlands you'd do finish Frostbolt cast -> use all finger of frost procs > flurry. Now in Dragonflight it would be finish Frostbolt cast -> flurry (regardless of fingers of frost procs) Is that correct? And if so, why is that?

@@lunarkid. I do understand this, but this has been the same in shadowlands. And in SL you didn't need to cast frostbolt before flurry, you just used it when it was up.

Hey! You never cast frostbolt and didn’t use the brain freeze proc, even in shadowlands. The reason being is that frostbolt can give you a brain freeze proc. You didn’t want to miss out on a new brain freeze proc by already having one and being capped. So you would always use flurry after the frostbolt regardless of ice Lance procs! Hope this helps 🥰

@@Okaymage interesting! i played it the way i mentioned and was in raiding able to do 95+ logs. Guess the difference just isn't that high, still probably a small dps gain. Sadly they didn't change the frost mage play style (prob got even worse bcs necro ramp was kinda cool) and it's super dependent on icy veins uptime. So for now im still breaking all my fingers for the perfect arcane rotation *smiles in pain*

kinda late but it depends if it'll fall of with a considerate amount of charges, if it would do more damage than a frozen fingers ice lance and you will drop the buff, then you should use it.

Is this guide applicable to a returning frost mage? I stopped playing after Legion launched, and I seem to have gone from level 100 to 40. I have the mountain sage gear it looks like (idk if that means anything), and I went to Outland and I keep dying trying to kill the hellboars :(

I still dont understand why Mastery became such a top priority secondary stat for Frost Mages. I know its cuz of that one talent, but did that one talent really bump up Mastery's benefit since Frost has always prioritized Crit and Haste.

I find that cone of cold never procs for me in real situations. I can never get it to 30 stacks of snowstorm unless I'm at a target dummy and can stand there cycling through 2 rounds of frozen orb and at least 4 blizzards. Should I not bother with snowstorm?

The cone of cold talent (snowstorm) requires *consistent* large aoe to make the most out of it. For lower pull counts and slower routes/dungeons then Wintertide will perform much better! Sounds like that’s the case for the content you’re experiencing 🥰

Mirror images are a defensive front and foremost. I talk about their uses in the utility section of the video as they also take aggro which is super strong in M+. Hope this helps 🥰
