As for ES v FR I'd usually favor the Spanish there, but the French bullied our little brother Belgium so we need to meet them in the finals to slap them around a little. @@footiesocialclub France has a solid defense and I definitely agree, but what about Germany? They also have a solid defense and their midfield is actually even stronger than France's, but Spain made it through. If Spain attacks and uses their chances properly, scoring the first goal in the first half, then France will have to come out to play, leaving more space at the back. Spain's young, talented players will surely manage to score even more. Spain has to score the first goal in the first half. If they can't, then your scenario would happen, which I think is less likely, as I am very sure that Spain will do everything to score the first goal so France has no chance to attack. Spanish youngsters proved that if they can beat Germany's defense, then they can beat France's too. England has a chance to win even without extra time or penalties, as the Netherlands plays in a very panicked mode when their opponents are attacking constantly, as seen in the game against Turkey. If the Turks hadn’t pulled back in the second half, they could have easily scored a second goal. Actually, even after Turkey backed down in the second half, they still had some chances against the Netherlands. If England plays attacking football like they did against Switzerland, they could easily win the game 2-0. My prediction is 2-1 or 3-1 to Spain and 2-0 or 2-1 to England.

Banging comment! Really fair analysis! Your Spain scoring first scenario definitely rings true. I could also see France still sitting back and hoping for the counter, even if they go a goal down. Spain have been great to watch this tournament. I’ve enjoyed watching them (and Georgia in the group stage) the most. Either way, hopefully we will be in for two decent games in the semis. It’s not a group game, and if they lose, they're out. They will get stressed, and Spain will force them to come out and play instead of sitting back. Let’s see! 😊 England definitely has a chance to end the game without extra time or penalties, even if the Netherlands scores first. I think it would actually be better for England if the Netherlands scores first in the first half. Then they will attack with all they’ve got and win the game. But it’s all down to Southgate again; he has world-class players. My prediction... Spain beats France 2-0. But the score is generous. Spain will control most of the play and have the majority of shots/shots on target. The Dutch beat the England 3-1. I understand that every one has their biases, fan and pundit alike, however, the bias of the English fans and Media is nauseating. It’s one thing to want your country to win and stating that you want them to win. But trying to justify why they will win when nothing points to that is extreme bias. Also predicting that France will win is further exposing the bias and wishful thinking. If one wants to be respected as a pundit, critic or whatever in whatever capacity you have stick with Logic. They have slated England at every turn. I haven’t sat there and said one team will go and smash the other. I’ve looked at the analysis and have come to a conclusion.
