Hi, thank you for your comment. At thé moment I am interested to selle the concept (drawings, specs and pictures and assistance ) to someone interested to manufacture that trailer. Would you do it for yourself or commercialize? There IS a jugé potential,

@@jeanpfevre3923 I'm 78 and a bit to old to go into production. I will probably build something similar for myself though. It's very well designed.

Looks like a nice one person trailer. Did not see any large propane canister like a 20 gallon sized one, so maybe only doing a backpack style stove or a one burner butane canister stove? I did see a tiny LED light so maybe battery or USB style LED and a Solar battery generator? Who knows? Nice rig. I am an American as you likely can tell.
@jeanpfevre3923 Жыл бұрын
Hello, to answer some Of your questions: There IS no propane as thé purpose Of that caravan IS mainly going to campsites in Scandinavia. In Europe it IS not allowed (in most Of the countries) to camp in nature, off grid. However, the caravan IS fitted with a 100 ah battery (lead, Can be changed for lithium), a battery charger bluetooth connected, a Truma water heater well insulated and a water pump . I am going to Sweeden this Summer ant I carry a 2.2 kW gen. So I Can still go few days in remonte places. My cooker IS an induction hob, plus a gas stove on canisters . Solar panels Can be fitted on the caravan roof but for my personnal use I do not need. I will post vidéos soon about that trip to Sweeden. Best regards JP FEVRE

Was wondering how much the weight is. I have 4 cylinder car and that looks like it would be light enough to pull. I liked the background music
@jeanpfevre3923 Жыл бұрын
Hi, I think that almost any small car will be suitable for towing Origami. Weight IS less than 400 kg. Usually there IS no problem if less than 500 kg . Extra consumption IS neglectable. Best regards

How do you clean all the road spit and mud from driving through the rain and back roads off your kitchen counter and cabinets?
@jeanpfevre392311 ай бұрын
Hi, if you look carefuly at thé présentation video you will notice that the black Of thé caravan IS protected ( when folded) by a blue tarpaulin sliding in the awning rail. The tarpaulin has under extension in the entrance area to bridge between the kitchen and sink. I did Travel 5000 km this Summer, mainly under rain, in Scandinavia and that solution IS working perfect. In fact driving or at camp, thé caravan IS perfectly tight. Note that before designing Origami I had Two Esterel folding caravans so I used similar solutions.

Not bad. But too small and no protection for the outside kitchen. What do you do if it rains? I love my 1990 Esterel
@jeanpfevre3923 Жыл бұрын
Hi, I understand your comments. Previously I had Two Esterel, one S 34 and one C 39. I loved them and it's pityful that Esterel does not existe anymore . I modify the C39 , adding UP a bathroow with toilet and shower andI made an outside kitchen because it's a non sense to Cook inside. But you need an awning to protect the kitchen. You may look at one of my video about the C 39. I designed Origami for one person and mainly for travelling. The aim was to get a light trailer, well insulated and very comfortable. To protect the kitchen you have to install the modular awning (top and three sides) , then you have ample Space to put also your table, chair, frige. It's a travelling machine for one person, comparés to the Esterel trailer, you do not feel the excess weight when driving, extra petrol consumption IS neglectable. I am completing a 5000 km trip to Sweeden, Danmark and Germany for testing Origami and so far I am satisfied. However, I intend to make an additional compact one piece canvas room to fit instead Of the awning, quickly installed and fully protecting the kitchen.

@@jeanpfevre3923 don't get me wrong, it's a brilliant design and looks extremely well built. But I would feel sad to travel alone. Are you intending to build a 2 birth?
@jeanpfevre3923 Жыл бұрын
@@justinholding02 In the concept as IS, the bed could be extended at night UP to 1,6 m but there would be no Access to the toilet and drawers at night Time. I am sure the curved roof and two side folding panels concept Can be reworked to a comfortable 2 berths caravan , but the trailer has to remain light, low profite once folded, not too wide as well.

I’m building a similar one, what do these cost?
@jeanpfevre3923 Жыл бұрын
May I suggest you to make a set of drawings first, then compute the cost of each item finally check if it fits into your budget before anything else, and add up 4 to 5 months of labor. A previous experience of 2/3 years travelling with folding caravan (Esterel type) would also help a lot. It looks simple but it's very tricky to achieve a water and air tight room
