My husband used to get off work at 4:00. The kids got home from school and about the same time. Supper was ready and we all sat down to eat. People thought I was nuts to have supper ready at 4:00, but my thought was when they got home everyone was hungry. Instead of filling up on snacks we ate supper. Later in the evening was the time for snacks, after having a decent meal with all of us around the supper table.

I have been in the restaurant industry for over 35 yrs . And currently work at OG for the last 7.. its truly an amazing company to work for and with.. one of the absolute best i have ever been a part of.. legut every sauce and soup and pasta is made fresh every single day.. anything not sold goes into bags and sealed like the food saver . Then put in the freezer on a shelf called "harvest" and every week (i live in north Alabama) Tennessee valley outreach comes and collects the food and distributes it to our local shelters and food banks.. anything we cant sell goes to them.. whole lasagna, whole tiramisu, gallons of soups and sauces.. day old pasta.. its really great ❤❤❤

I love that you wait for everyone to come home to sit and eat dinner together. When I was a child my dad worked swing shift. He would cook dinner at lunchtime and my mom would come home on her lunch break and we would sit and have dinner together. That way we got one good meal together. Then my dad had a good hearty meal before work. Then it didn’t matter if we ate sandwiches at night.

Hi Jessica 👋 So good to see you again. I've been off for a while, and I'm waiting for some good weather down here on the Peninsula. It's been raining and cool here with a couple of days getting up to like the early 60s, but nothing like it should be by now. Loving all the cooking you've been doing, perfect for busy summertime meals. So I have a quick tip on red onions to not to make you cry is to take out the white middle (the strongest part), and it really helps with no more tears. 😭 Excellent tips and tricks, and I agree with everything you said. Loved the man who fixed his hair in the video. 😂😂😂 I love your long videos, so I would totally watch your year worth of food. Have a wonderful weekend, my friend 😊

We always had dinner at seven sharp. My husband would come home for lunch and we have dinner together. Poor thing had to go back to work. Now that my husband‘s retired and the kids are grown a few are still at the house, but we rarely ever sit down at the table and eat together. We just go to our lounge chairs and eat in front of the TV. I do miss those days of us sitting all around the table.❤
