I knew this game existed, but as American civil war is a timeperiod I am not that accustomed to I never played/ watched anything about it. It gave much better first impression than I thought it would. Waiting for more very *enthusiastically. And seeing how you handle unknown situations, as you already played this mission. * Is that how that word is written and is that even the word I should use?

I personally pushed my men to the left so I'm on the cliffs and I clear those skirmishers out. Then I push my force to the town and charge over the bridge to the right. Simultaneously 1 infantry 1 cav and 1 skirmisher units go to the left bridge so its a pincers maneuver. Then the final stage where you hold the town is simple dismount the cav and use them to plug gaps till the reinforcements arrive. This was my first ever battle fought in this game and I won.

Ill be doing the CSA after I' done with this, and I tend to role player a little as I go so expect me to utter the pharse "Damn Yankees" as much as I say "Rebel Bastards" in this one

CSA is harder than the union side since you'll be strapped for cash, equipment and manpower. Playing Union (which is the easy faction) though will get you a good idea of the game as well as the maps though

Fence lines are quite useful as partial cover for units to line up against.

The key to defeating the train is to focus ALL of your cannons on it; also, make sure that your cannons are close enough to get regular hits (cannon distance decreases accuracy in this game). Good luck and thanks for the vid--very entertaining & I thought you did fairly well

Ahh this explains it! I had started watching this series, and then at Part 5 I didnt realize i began watching the 1.0 series, and is why I got so confused as to why the brigade names had changed LOL I was like "where's the Midge Brigade??"

When attacking a position, I usually charge with one unit and use another to shoot at the unit is am charging at.

How do you drag the line so to speak? Hold right click? I'm also trying to figure out how to place troops behind fences. I'm completely new to this game and series and let me tell you I'm getting my ass handed to me. FYI I like your command of the German language during unpleasant surprises. It's probably historically accurate to boot as immigrant Germans flocked to the Union flag by the hundreds of thousands as they hated slavery with a passion.

lines are simple, select multiple units, click and drag from where you want the line to start to where you want it to end. And dont get down on sucking at first, I failed the first union mission 6 times before getting it. And even after that, it takes a good while to get the hang of what cover is best, where to palce what arty, when to move troops, when to flank, when to pin down. Keep with it, its well worth it.
