You also can use an old thick brush, watered down red paint and a straw to make the blood effect. By blowing through the straw at the brush with the watered down red paint, it will make a splatter effect.
@justinmargerum2559
@justinmargerum2559 3 ай бұрын
There are multiple ways to do this, such as flicking the brush for an actual spatter, or using a stiff bristle brush and gently using a finger or thumb to brush the bristles and get a more dispersed quasi-airbrush-style peppering effect. Blowing through a straw onto a brush is something I hadn't thought of before, so thanks for the tip!

Ahh! Memories of Korindor Geneq! First ever session, we went to join some guards and had military training to make the cut. ....Korindor was an undead bloodline sorceror. Had a 7 in strength and 9 in con (iirc). Had an obstacle course right at start of first session. Korindor falls off balance beam. Takes max fall damage and is knocked to zero HP. But the Arena was best part. To make the cut, was a tournament of teams to test martial combat. Rules? Use supplied weapons and armor to make it non lethal... NO MAGIC. So Korindor... Oh my... What to do? Well, 6'8 Korindor decided to put on the bulkiest full plate he could find. Grabbed a massive tower shield. Picked up a spiked ball flail! Went out and started screaming. Doing intimidation and other Charisma based actions to make the other team terrified! Oh man, the whole table was just laughing, it was such a good time!

Nice! Back in the period of time when I was between the ages of about 15-18, about 22 years ago, AD&D 2nd Ed was the only D&D that I was able to get a hold of. We used to do so, so many PC deathmatches. Never wrote it into a campaign or anything. They would take place in a pocket Dimension that only a chosen few (the PCs) could access. And death wouldn't be final in that dimension. A dead PC's consciousness would simply return to it's actual body in the campaign world, or Plane that he or she happened to currently inhabit.

Tip for how I do blood staining. I will cite warhammer paint since I used this tactic mainly on warhammer figs. I actually use a clearcoat, matte finish. Then I mix in some ink. Allows me to dab and dry brush the main body of the bloodstain into the ground. I then will have a paint wet brush held just off the surface. Holding brush steady, I flick the brush head (not bristles itself) With my finger to create a blood spray. I dont like just random blobs. I try to tell a story. Giving direction and consistent motion. Perhaps drag, spray, bleeding out. I have for my W40K greenskin army a looted transport. I did bloodstaining on the exit ramp to make it seem like people got shot while disembarking. V pattern on ground and the brush spray on surrounding doorway.

I found a video a few years back of this crafter making her paste. She ised a 4:2:1 combo of baby powder:glue:paint. I use baking soda myself and it can get gritty depending on how you tweak the combos. But what I found was to let it thoroughly dry out (at least a day) and then you can lightly use a sand paper to smooth out the parts you want smooth. I usually use 8 oz baking soda, 4 oz elmer's glue and 2 oz Apple Barrel paint (2oz is one of those pots). But that makes a lot of stucco so I have to line up a lot of projects.

Also restarting my home game after a few years. My kids are all older and have had their own game experiences without me, so I think they are in a better place than they used to be and I would like to introduce UDT and minis to the table. I think it would add to the experience; particularly since we are playing live again.
