Palace Saimin has been around since 1946. They use to be where Tamashiro Market is currently located. The combo bowl (saimin/udon/wonton) is awesome. Tip: They sell the beef stick sauce to use as a dip for the saimin. Ono'licious! Taka's is another awesome place that I enjoy! 🍍😎🤙🌴🥥🌺🌈

I just recently found your channel 🙂 I appreciate all the work you put into finding great inexpensive places to eat! I love that when you say a place is cheap, it actually is! Keep up the good work! My family is visiting Honolulu in a couple of weeks, I'm so looking forward to trying some of your recommendations. 💖

I gotta agree with you about Ige's, Richie's. and Scoopers Kitchen. I still have never been to Palace Saimin-still! Taka's is a pretty good place too, but check their site for their specials because they change daily.

I think there are still some cheap eats and innovative foods in Honolulu besides the boring plate lunch. Misty at Food Fiend channel seems to find them, hidden gems, always something new, good, affordable and delicious.

Charles! We are coming to Waikiki in a few weeks, so I’m re-watching a lot of your videos! Question for you about transportation since it’s been a while for me. Is it more cost effective to Uber around Waikiki, rent a car for $60-80 a day, or is the bust convenient? Thanks in advance and looking forward to all the food!

TheBus is convenient, they have an inexpensive all day/one day pass!

Is Ige's the place where they used to have live music at night? I thought they closed.
@hawaiiguy1 Жыл бұрын
Yeah, that ige's but they moved to Harbor Square. Same bldg with Hawn tire auto service, a car stereo shop but the last unit on the DH end of this 2 story bldg.

Is Ige's related to the old Ige's Restaurant and Puka that closed during Covid-19? It was owned by Ron Ige and bands there used to play good old live '70s hawaiian soft rock.
