Good explanation about phase cancellations ! If someone is using bass loop instead of synths there is a plugins like "fuser" and "disperser" that will help with phase between kick and bass

great video! :) what's your approach to bass lines when you start with an acapella? so you want to create a bass line that harmonizes with the vocals, how would you start?

That depends on the type of vocal. If it's a poppy topline then I like to start with chords and just use the bottom notes of the chords for the bassline. Maybe try to spice it up a bit by moving some notes, but keeping it simple. If it's a rap/spoken word vocal I like to start with rhythm that matches the vocal and from there try to make a little melody but often a bassline that doesn't move to much works best in the club imo.
