505 looks great here! Which then adds to the overall problem with Levi's fits - they're inconsistent and forever changing. Seeing the differences in the various 505's in your videos alone makes me think it's almost too much of a gamble with Levi's fits.

501 93s are a total fastball-down-the-middle, grilled cheeseburger, 2-minute punk song: just a no-nonsense classic that can't be argued with. I've had a pair for a year and love them. They've broken in nicely--waist stretched a bit, denim softened, and it seems like they have conformed to my leg shape while still leaving some room for movement. I just bought a 2nd pair on sale to keep as a back-up.

I have been a Levi's guy all my life and the button fly jean is PERFECT for me! As a famous comedian once said "That's the one part on my anatomy I don't want near interlocking teeth!". Also, I'm an older guy with a little extra on the waist. Now that the untucked shirt is acceptable I can leave the top button open if I need to and no one will be the wiser! I have numerous 501's but the light stonewash is my favorite, fits and looks great! I'm 501 4 ever!

I have tried 501,501 '54, 514, and 555 from the Premium line. My favourites are the 501 '54 and 555.

How can you find out online, if it's a premium line jeans or not? Great video btw!!!
@MensFashionFiles25 күн бұрын
Appreciate it! On the Levi's website, it is labeled in the name. Also most of time you can instantly tell that it's premium if it uses a thicker leather jacron patch.

As someone who has worn 501's throughout the 90's and actually own a pair of faded 501 jeans (Made in USA) from the 90's, I would say that the 551Z 1961 jean is a more accurate representation size wise of an actual 90's 501 jean.
@andyboa81073 ай бұрын
I bought my first 501's in 1992 and I loved them, they fitted like bootcut. Then I bought again in 1994 and they were larger in thighs and narrower at the hem. This kept me away from 501' until this year. I see now they are again like those from 1992. BTW I still have those 501's from the 90s but not my size any more :( They are Made in UK (1992) and Made in Poland (1994).

@@MensFashionFiles I watched the rest of this week’s post too. I’m legitimately stunned your chain looks that big. I 100% thought it was at least 3mm thick. Thank you so much for this reply and your videos. Loyal supporter for life ✊🏾

NEED HELP! 🙏🏻 Can someone suggest an all-black LEVI's or Hollister jeans for me, please? I am a mid to big fit on the hip, a regular thigh and a slighly bigger calves with a slim ankle. I am 5'6" and like to wear my jeans below my waist(below the belly), and need something that has a high rise on the back(hip side) so the jeans doesn't slide down too much when I sit. My usual JEANS measurements: Back hip-crouch - 13” Front raise - 10.5” Hip - 41.5” Thigh - 23.5 to 24” Leg Opening - 14” 1/2 In-seem length - 28.5 to 29”
@gavindmello69572 ай бұрын
I got a 514, earlier, and the fit through the calves and thighs was comfortable, but the leg opening was a bit too wide(could have been a 7-ish, instead of an 8-inch opening). But the hip was where the issue is. Its an okay(fitted/hugging) at the widest part of the hip, but when I sit on a chair, it slides down significantly at the back(a bit too much, to be honest).

Try the 541 or 502. It has a similar fit from the knee up like the 514 but slimmer leg opening.

The 514 fit well and are comfortable, but they do not look or feel like regular demin. The look and feel is more like what I would expect with chinos. This is disappointing, because I have a pair of Levi's 511 gray jeans that are denim in look and fabric. I purchased those in 2019, and I was expecting something similar with the 514
@JasonGss3 ай бұрын
The 501s are great when you're in High School and don't work for a living, but with as many year in the market I expected more. I need a comfortable pair that's designed to last for manly activities! I have countless numbers that wear out over the wallet back pocket and in the crotch. Am I the only person this happens to? Don't even get me started with super skinny jeans. Bring back the complete button fly, toughen up on the obvious wear zones, and while I have your attention, a little flattery in the seat to keep up with women in leggings wouldn't hurt either. Go with black labels so people don't read my size from 50' away.

These videos are a great idea and super helpful, but, you measure a bit low on the thigh, skewing the results of an often neglected measurement. The thigh should be measured an inch below the crotch seam and directly across to the edge. Great content otherwise.
@GetOutOfMyDojo3 ай бұрын
Edit: adding your own measurements at the beginning would help as well
