Thank you for sharing this valuable information. I found all of it helpful. 3 weeks into my introductory college Ai class, I wanted to mask off objects that extended beyond the edge of my artboard. I asked 4 assistants plus my instructor specifically about masking the edges. None of them was able to offer a solution other than slicing the objects to remove the parts that went beyond the artboard. (Nobody even seemed to know anything about using clipping masks in Ai.) I'm so happy you decided to include the part about masking the edges of the artboard with the rest of the info. Your explanations are very clear. Thanks again.

Yes, clip to artboard will be such a good feature. Presently we can only do it while exporting. I have fun the most while adding shadows through clipping mask. Thanks for the video.

Great information. I learned more about masking than I ever thought I would! I learn by doing and at first I thought because there were no practice files, it would be a detriment but i created my own files and got to practice my other Illustrator skills and that really helped. I'm a designer and have used Illustrator since Macromedia Freehand became extinct (I'm dating myself :) I'll certainly be rolling this instructor in the future

Really helpful. One thing I rarely use are masks, until yesterday where I couldnt work out how to do something. I tried a Mask, and 30 seconds later, the job was done.
