Excellent video - as a long time Empire enjoyer, all the "recent" changes (well, from late WH2 on) I'd actually forgotten the days when taking Marienburg was a key early move for Karl. Glad to see it back as a viable start and finally putting that uppity Emil von Korden in his place and re-unifying the Empire. Looking forward to part 2. Well done Sir, and "bravo"!

Settlements taken from Kemmler should be given to Lyonesse not Carcassonne, suppose it's a "typo"/confusion (cf map at 5:40, wrong faction name) But very clever start, as Kemmler usually expand very fast, thrashing Marienburg and Lyonesse

You don't need to push that far and there's a lot more care taken (less reckless than it appears). Settlements taken isn't the raw measure of a campaign. Borders and diplomatic landscape is more important.

I dont know about the first two, I was warned that if I take Marienburg early, Bel'akor would see me and he'll start curbstomping me. and 2nd and this happens most of the time, if I help out Bretonnia, they might start taking lands that belong to me

Franz has the most well rounded campaign with a lot of flexiable army comps due to elector count troop buffs and the fact he can grow his economy the fastest out of the empire lords.

you forgot to mention that dealing with the wood elves is tricky. Durthu naturally hates you, angry short people doesnt. if u get good relationship with angry short people, Durthu will hate u more. For me, I try to maintain my relationship with the wood elves at least no lower than -40. It's just not worth it to go at war with them. Otherwise, absolutely love the guide. As someone who plays the Empire a lot, and a Karl Franz simp. There could never be enough video talking about him, or his gameplay

Optimised setup bro it's turn 20 and I've been declared war on by factions with strength rank 2,4 and 5, having to defend vs 2 full stacks waagh armies with my low tier one stack, sometimes it's just a loss and I don't know what to do about it, can't really think of a way I could've played it out differently

If your play style brings immersive campaigns then that's a success whichever way you cut it. My goal is just to show high level play without any cheese or exploits to simplify and help inform choices or give some ideas. I celebrate the fact we have so many play styles and you can learn from any player of any level.

This is why they made end times crisises Even on legendary, it isn't that hard to get rolling unstoppably--especially if you're rolling a dlc lord--without that much effort, generally by tier 3 settlements. Skyre, Nuln, and Broken axe for me have been pretty cruisy after a slightly dicey early game. I don't even spam *da best* stuff. Just a few 3-4 rattling gunners, grenadier outriders/ebon rose; stone trolls will roll enemies over
