Wonderful You made an Alfa v6 sound like the original Ferrari engine. No joke. Great job. You achieved the unachievable
@StelaPop Жыл бұрын
I don't want to know how much it cost to build that bespoke 3.2L Alfa Buso power plant but it definitely sounds the part of the OEM Dino V6. Ok I lied, I DO want to know how much it cost to build that engine😅

I have an Abarth 595, not powerful, but boy does it sound good. Pops, bangs, lumpy, fumes, heat, noise, bumpy ride, intake noise, rattles, squeaks. Probably the most fun anyone could have doing 30mph, I love it. I love this Stratos too, this is my ultimate, one day, one day. 👍

Love it, Jim’s car Jim’s way. This series is one of the best I’ve come across on KZbin.

This is exactly how I'd have one. The sound is the most important thing. Has to sound like a Stratos rally car.
@SuperMadpom Жыл бұрын
Agree there's a few 6R4 Replicas and even an original 6R4 with an engine transplant on KZbin but without the right noise it's just wrong.

The loud rough idle makes the car sound like a beast breathing, impatiently wanting to bite the stage starter's third finger off and roostertail dirt behind it chasing the course down as fast as it can.

I like these kind of builds which are focused on the experience and getting it done instead of bogging down on 50 year old details or parts. Not to the likings of the purists, but I absolutely love it!

The Lancia Stratos in my opinion is a Rally Enthusiasts' dream ... the Ferrari built for Rally is probably a good definition for it. This kit is definitely not lesser than the original but the ability to customise for every individual's taste is priceless.

Brilliant, really enjoyed this - the Pistonheads thread on the car has come to life, deservedly so and what an absorbing, fascinating tale it's been! The car itself is absolutely beautiful, it oozes the enthralment of an original Stratos in spades. There's a saying that no car is perfect, but this is perfection on four wheels. When I first started reading the PH thread I lusted after an LB in 'Stradale' spec, as close as possible to the Bertone prototype or one of the early factory built cars, but I can totally see why so many people go for the full on rally look and feel.

stratos has been my dream car since i was a small boy. living out in the sticks in new york, we didnt have alot of knowledge on rally racing, closest thing was the dukes of hazard tv show. my father, being a poor single dad, had to do laundry on the weekends at a local laundry mat. he would buy my brother and i a small toy to keep us occupied while he washed clothes. i got a toy lancia stratos. we didnt think it was a real car, due to its futuristic style. i got to push it one time, and it got lost under tge wash machine. i never saw it again, until i got into rally racing video games, and was like, "thats my car!" every video i ever watched has brought a tear to my eye. no other car can do that. replica or not, theres something special about this car. ill never see one irl, nor ever drive one. im glad to atleast be able to see videos.

The Stratos' styling is weird, there's something about it that just works so well but the more you try and put it in words the more you come to the realisation that words don't really do it justice. I keep coming back to Jeremy Clarkson's "it kind of just is".

Everyone I know who has a kit car of any kind is someone who is is skilled in mechanical/fabrication. Back in the day if you wanted a kit car you were going to have to work on it to make it anything but a tacky movie prop.

Cool down to earth guy and a very cool rep rally car. I believe the Lister version is better to drive than most of the originals, definitely better built.
@napoliansolo78652 жыл бұрын
It's better to drive the replica, because an original would be too valuable to risk driving on public roads.
