For your "AT-AT vs Sandcrawler" debate : AT-AT. That's a military walker with surprising speed (60km/h top speed) against a slow mining crawler (30km/h top speed) (Source : Wookieepedia). As for armament, the Sandcrawler has nothing except the jawas inside. The AT-AT has twin laser cannons. Of course, give the Jawas about ten minutes unopposed, and they'll have the AT-AT disabled and its guts thrown across the desert. Good thing there are stormtroopers aboard to prevent that.

Sand crawlers are not slow in universe. Its definitely faster than a at-at. But an at-at does have empire grade weapons while the Sand crawler is essentially a trade vessel armed with nothing more than crew with blasters. Speaking of crew the Sand crawler has ALOT more. Basically it would come down to distance & environment. If their far away from eachother easy win for at-at as they excell at slow Aproaches, If their close to each other the Sand crawler would most likely win. And for environment mountains could provide cover and despite it being in the name at-ats are not all terrain, so there are many types of terrain that would either hinder or prevent it moving. In most situations with a environment not native to either the Sand crawler wins due to treads being better than legs. But! you don't care about all that, *TLDR:* You place the two vehicles at a fair distance in an open flat battlefield, Sand crawler wins more often. It will tank the first volley from the at-at, close the distance, & ram the at-at. the at-at might hit a critical system first volley, or not fall over from the ram, But I'd say like 87% of the time Sand crawler wins.

@@friendlyneighbourhoodarsen7351 the sand crawler was never built for combat, so outside of its hull, it has no protective capabilities allowing it to close the distance between it and the at-at, so with the at-at's heavy turbolaser cannons, a well aimed shot to the command center would stop the crawler dead in its tracks, and then it's just a matter of dealing with 4 foot angry jawa's.

Tracytron 54321 he never said what? I'm sure they'll sell more than one and maybe even a few hundred, maybe. It's a 12000 piece set. It is complicated. Figuring out the structure that will support all that is extremely difficult and takes multiple attempts at the engineering, etc. Their prices are quite fair. Keep in mind the price pays the designer and Brickvault.

For an AT-AT vs Sandcrawler battle, it depends entirely on the distance between the two. If they are far apart, the walker wins easily as the sandcrawler has no ranged weapons. The only chance for the crawler would be a close quarters fight. At that range, it should be able to ram the AT-AT and knock it over.

Why would you advertise this as "minifig scale"? It is clearly smaller than the minifig scale. Just look at the picture you provided yourself at 5:14 and look at the cockpit all the way up. On the blueprint, you can see that each level of the cockpits could fit at least two dozen Jawas. On the model, at 5:56 there is a room only for four Jawas...Next, take a look at the ramp on the blueprint, again on 5:14 and you can see there is enough space width-wise at the top, most wide part of the ramp that it can hold again at least two dozen Jawas side by side. On the model, at 5:05, the ramp can barely fit 8 Jawas at the same section, width-wise. The model needs to be bigger at least 2 - 2.5 times than it is now to be called "minifig scale".

I think you're overestimating the Sandcrawler's mobility. An AT-AT would just blast away at it from range, then sidestep it before it got even close, if it was still running. It was originally made for mining, so it's not armoured and an AT-AT's cannons should have no trouble penetrating it.

I mean in ANH the Sandcrawler was downed by Imperial Troop blasters. I don't think this transport was built to withstand artillery considering it never really had to be exposed to battlefield vehicles. I'm sure the worst they had to deal with was tusken raider blasters.

@generalgrievous5341 6 жыл бұрын
The estimate was 1700$, and some parts in reddish brown are very rare and expensive. But even without those you'll likely spend a ton on multiple shipments from bricklink, which could be very pricey depending on where you live. But compared to what freaking speculators ask for old retired UCS sets (falcon, tantive iv, star destroyers, death star II, etc.) this Sandcrawler is a steal.

I would really like to build this thing, but i dont think my "pc" is able to work with the programs, and having to buy the parts seperatly sounds like preatty much effort and shipping cost, i would prefer being able to buy a printed version for more money and be able to buy all the parts for the moc, too. That way you know exactly what the moc costs and get it from one shop; and you do not have to buy the instruction and part list before knowing that the moc will not cost ~1700$ but ~2200$ due to shipping cost and part prices. At over 10000 pieces i do not want to be unsure about the endcost of a build.

That's all a tell tale, of you not being a big enough fan, not only of Star Wars, but of the Sandcrawler, Legos and the experience of building something so Star Wars aesthetic of that magnitude, otherwise you would be "chomping on the bit" sort of speak, dreaming at the chance of putting one of these together.

@@gaarcemail in my opinion having to pay 2000€ obly for the parts is ok, but to pay 1000€ for a computer that is able to show the instructions just isnt really what you want, and it has nothing to do with being a fan or not, is it really so hard to make a good product out of a fantastic thing like this? Yes i do not have had any lego for years, but the sandcrawler would be something you could have instead of a boring statue and would be a great puzzle to put together, so stop making big speaches that you are such a big lego fan that would pay 3000€ and that you know everthing about buying cheap parts..., because the average star wars fan just has no idea of how to do this and having to face instructions and programs another language also isnt that easy!
@gaarcemail
@gaarcemail 6 жыл бұрын
@@brainzmech2971 As you said its just our opinions. But what i wanted to point out is, that you're just paying to look at some instructions on a computer, well i mean, yeah, in your opinion, if you see it that way fine, but what about the hundreds of hours that these guys put into putting that data on a computer? And again if you don't care about compensating people for their hard work, but only what your physically going to get, fine, but some people, such as my self appreciate what they have done, because otherwise, i or others would (if we ever could) have to work hundreds of hours to figure how to do this. I would rather pay $60 and and not have to, that is all. Whether i have the money to do this or not, is besides that point, we are talking about whether it's worth it or not. To be honest, i am not so much a "great" fan of Star Wars, I have always love their art work. I think they where way ahead of their time. I was their on release and was very impressed, again, not by the story, but by the fantastic futuristic art work.

dXb you realize how many potential hundreds of man hours went into the creation of both this model, and the process of refining the build into something that could be easily laid out via instructions, right? Given the amount of effort and time that was likely sunk into this build, 60 dollars for the instructions is more than reasonable for an undertaking of this scale.

Not a space weapons expert here, but I would think if you shot at the treads and made a good hit or two, the Sandcrawler would be disabled. Then the AT-AT could just take it's time shooting it to pieces. As the Jawa's came running out of a smoldering Crawler, you could just step on them like ants at a picnic. If some Tusken Raiders were some distance away, it would appear to them that the AT-AT was doing some sort of dance. Actually sounds kind of fun!
