BA First Class by any other name is business class on better Middle Eastern carriers (Qatar, QSuites, Etihad A350 business suites) I’m curious to see the pricing for this “first class” seat. I don’t think the fare would be low enough for the inconvenience of transiting LHR to get back home to NYC. Good review, though.

Thank you for blurring out the crews faces. As first class crew, I do sometimes feel uncomfortable when people film me. I’m glad you enjoyed the flight. It’s nice to see the service from the point of view of our passengers. Sorry your burger didn’t live up to the standards. Thanks for the comment. I always try to make a point of excluding the faces of the crew as it isn’t fair on them, particularly when I make a negative point about an airline. That said, this was a great flight, with very good service! - except the burger 🍔…

The utility of a flat bed, nice food and arriving refreshed is the same. First just has that extra pazaz and luxury - for a small fee, some miles or a special moment do it - but it’d honestly not a huge difference with BA.

I’m glad your audio track is up a good level on this video .. I’ve often heard BA First Class described as ‘the best business class in the sky’.. it does seem quite similar to Q Suites , rather than an ultimate luxury first class product.. I guess it all comes down to price , and how much we’re ready to pay .. thanks for the review..🙏

I tried both products and I must say the BA seat is much, much more spacious than the Qsuite. However the menu and service may not be that different.

@@82attilatoth I agree that the spaciousness of BA First and QSuites don’t compare. The menu isn’t that much different to me, but the service is definitely different. The attendant-to-passenger ratio is much, much different, with BA having a much more personalized service. Qatar would need 8-10 attendants in the business class cabins to be similar.

​​​@@pacmanc8103the menu on Qatar has more items. I just counted 23 starter/main/dessert/light meal options on Qatar and 19 on BA. In terms of the crew: true, there are less attendants per passenger but I find them more active and attentive than the BA crew. But it is just my personal feeling, others may prefer less interaction.

Planning trip to Chicago in June. Thought I would try 777 300 flights as the 787’s on AA are a bit cramped. I am worried about the Dilbert Cubicles as I suffer from claustrophobia. Looks like I can keep the doors open. Also bed length is just long enough. Thanks for review.

Just flew BA Business Class in December’23 San Diego to London and back. (Excellent flight). I didn’t see many differences in the video between Business and First Class. Seating area appears very similar if not identical, food offerings seem pretty much the same, high quality service, etc. If one can score an upgrade at a “reasonable” price as in the video, it would likely be worth it. But, at full price, the free Wi-Fi and maybe some extra nibbles wouldn’t seem so.

Think for the upgrade even though it was a reasonable price that should have been complimentary given the hassles you had. I would have needed more time in the Concorde Lounge to justify paying that. Plus of course its much better paying for any Business/First flight with AVIOS.

Havinh worked for BA at LHR i really don't know why PSA are telling people to get to the gat early yet you are made to wait awhile. We had this in june 45 mins we waited before boarding. Could have stayed jn the lounge

I do enjoy your reviews. They are very concise and delivered well. Man, that burger looked like caca. I am surprised they served it. And they should hold the hoards back to let first off of the jet. There really is not a whole lot of difference between first and business, so every little nuance makes a difference.

I was planning on flying to the UK and check out England Ireland and Scotland. But now you have to request permission to enter the UK which cost $ 13 dollars. Fill out the form which includes your e mail address your credit card or debit card number. As well as various unknown questions. Some of us in the States think that this one of the ways the was they can us if we made any derogatory comments. Then you are arrested.

All that is happening is that the UK (and separately the EU) are introducing similar electronic travel permits to the ESTA that everyone has been required to complete to enter the US for more than a decade.

1. Looks more than a business class . I would prefer QSuites , Qatar airways business class over this 2. No caviar . Every self respecting carrier offers caviar in first class . BA used to years ago 3. The leg rest is too narrow , as is the screen ( smaller than some business class seats of other carriers ). 4. Food choice is below par .

Well, as usual not all trips are good. I paid 26k for four seats 1st class to London from Chicago. I did this in June. It is December and I have yet to recieve my refund for a cancelled and degraded coach seat for 13 hours. The custeomer service is sh!t and India is the only people that will talk to you. Email only and asked to be patient for 6 months! Save your money!

This is the response after 10 months waiting, 35+ emails, and 20 calls to India and Malaysia with countless waisted hours on the line! NO REFUND FOR FIRST CLASS DOWNGRADE!!! I'm sorry you remain unhappy with the outcome to your refund request. I appreciate you would like a phone call, but we do not have a phone line in the Claims Investigation Specialist department, therefore, this isn't an option. I also understand you would like to know the value of a ticket from Rome to Cedar Rapids. This will always fluctuate and there isn't one set price. It would depend on dates selected and the fare availability on the day of booking. A one-way would also be more expensive than a return fare. Due to those reasons, it would not be possible to get you an accurate answer as you have requested. I'm sorry the agent you spoke to over the phone had advised the refund could be higher. They couldn't give you a definitive amount and were estimating based on what they could see in the booking at the time. We have fed back to their manager about this and they will ensure a similar situation won't occur in the future. We appreciate you are expecting a higher value, but the refund has been calculated by our Refunds team, who are trained to calculate such refunds. They also liaise with American Airlines to ensure the value of the flights you ended up travelling on are correct, and therefore, the refund processed would be correct. This has been checked multiple times and the refund you've received is correct and there isn't anything further due. @@user728hw28

Food is by far not good enough for first class. I think Arabs, Japanese, Air France and Singapore beats it even in business class. Pancakes? Chicken? Dishes are waaay too casual for first. Compare to first on Air France.

I prefer BA over Emirates! Emirates don’t hire flight attendants who are older. American Carriers and most European carriers respect the folks who are willing to work even at 60 or 65 if the person wants to. Emirates never seems to hire anyone who’s older. I don’t like that. Here in the US we respect people who are willing to work happily even at 70

Well you get what you get . bA first class “manned” by often older woman in their fifties . More experienced , willing or needing to work but often not that friendly . Flew with Emirates and Qatar many times in all classes . Service , food , confort cannot be compared with BA . Not even Krug or any other top non vintage Champagne . No caviar ( unbelievable ). A burger for a meal. Seats look cramped at the end , not much room for your feet . Screen smaller than Qatar QSuites . We pay for quality , not for anything else Haven’t flow BA first in two decades . Had worse meals in first than in their business class . Compare with La Une of Air France . Shocking difference .
