Got 2 extra great tips... 1. In event view, to select the notes instead of using the 4 d knob ,you can use the left and right arrow (left of the screens,above the power knob.) 2 and this was huge for me in m+ you cant quantise the length. 1/16 note is 240. Sometimes whilst playing you have those super thin note, or you want it to end perfectly at the end of a 16th. The trick is where it says length,select a note and turn length to the LEFT fully,and you will see that the note will be perfectly 1/16 or 240 for length. Great when you use adsr, for easy visibility, or have the notes overlap 2 16th to have a perfect legato/glide every time one for the 808 bass fans. Try it,this helped me so much for different stuff. And 3 😁 great tutorial as always Jeff. Thumbs up 👍👍👍

Priceless! Thank you, Jef. I felt disabled by teaching myself with NI videos and the manual when I first had Maschine. It's such a complex tool box, I got overload very quickly trying to remember both hard and software techniques and then produced nothing because I was always stuck it hampered my progress and put me off using Maschine. I can keep coming back here to refresh or gather skills slowly and most importantly discover for myself, using what I learn.

Up until now I've resorted to mouse clicking in the software which for me defeats the point of maschine. Downloaded the new community drive yesterday and started a new track with one of the kits! Very nice donationware. Im a micro user and to be honest i hate the idea of working on a device any more. I started with Maschine 1 and rarely used any if the hardware features beyond the pads. Lol. I come from synth hardware and drum machines. I never liked having to learn all of the the quirks and bad nav decisions hardware designers made. When i moved to software I realized i preferred having my tools on screen. I like having a good midi interface to interact with my software which gives you the best of both worlds and with the limited features on the Micro make it actually pretty useful for me. Watching your tutorial and seeing all of the button push nav nonsense you have to know and remember to do some thing that i can do easily on my computer screen with a mouse and keyboard reinforces why i made the decision to work the way i do. All of what you’re doing eventually becomes second nature but getting there would slow me down for far too long. As always thanks for the content! Whens your next interview show happening? This fills so many blanks for me. Thank you, Jef. I recently bought a Maschine Plus, having got used to the software with my Mk 3 Maschine. It's a struggle. When you did " shift grid" , my screen had so many more options than yours and changing these made no difference to the rate at which the play head jumped. I did notice that in the event window, at the top, my screen shows 1 2 3 4 yours shows 1.1 1.2 1.3 1.4 . Watching again, you emphasise the "Arrange" setting in Grid mode and of course I had missed that.

I love Maschine2 i got 2 keyboard S2 mk249&88 maschine mk3 &JAM And same they decided to discontinue the JAM AND iMaschin2 for IOS!!! When iPhone and iPad are way more powerful and faster! I think 🤔 the new board don’t have the revolution idea of the fonder of Ni to creat NATIVE products, and change the MAO, the United ecosystems of Ni products! The new board seem to be more marketing money driven that created NATIVE instruments and softwares! So I know you “work”closely with them so let them know please..... Form iMaschine2 to Maschine2; to maschine Mk3 micro, Jam, studio, Mk3 M+(in my opinion wasn't ready, processor to weak… but great product) to A serie keyboard to S2 Series with all the United ecosystems this is what make the strength of Ni, and I think the key it’s to make amazing Daw sofwares for iMaschine3 for IOS to Maschine3 as DAW very strong and unique! they just need to improve it Maschine2 and promote it more and more in their own tutorial and not Ableton live 🤦♂

hey jef, i had hoped i could solve this, but i've been searching e'where, then came back to your presentation and i'm doing it right in that to move the playhead, or cursor, you have to hold shift down....every other element working in events n' patterns is good to go, but the moving of the cursor remains unsolved...dang!

Yeah! Definitely… you mean just for a sampler in maschine?

@@jefgibbons I've been looking for an automatic way to set the notes in event view to end exactly when the next starts but couldn't figure out how. It seems to be possible to do it manually for each note like shown in this video but is there a shortcut for legato on the whole even like it is with quantizing? It would be very useful with bass lines or leads etc

I though note editting on maschine is bad, noe when I know how it is on push 2, I think note editting on maschine is great.

1 to 10, how happy are you with the Maschine+?
@jefgibbons2 жыл бұрын
@@publika6883 I'd give it a solid 7, I have a video coming where I talk about it and who it is for... and it is not for everyone... you have to want to get out of the studio and away from the computer! Needs a battery and a speaker... But it is so powerful when you compare it to similar devices... and being able to work in the Maschine environment so seemlessy is great if you're used to it!
