How is it that you don't have over a million subscribers? I've been watching your content now religiously for about a year and a half now. It's ALWAYS so good. I personally like your clean environment. Remember you saying some people saying something about it. The setup it good, everything is so well explained. Man you could teach a child this stuff the way you do it. When I see some channels with millions of subscribers and they're literally the biggest goofballs. Even the music channels. Some of them are so god awful bad but the have 100s or thousands of subscribers. What is wrong with Subscribers?

I wish you were located near me as I'd love to book a few 1 to 1's with you. You literally know Maschine Daw & Hardware inside out! I usually start a beat in Maschine, then drag the individual pads (as one shots,) and the Midi notes of chord sets etc into Logic and carry on from there. It's a sufficient workflow for me sort of, but I know I'm not getting half as much out of Maschine as I could do if I knew it better. Love your channel mate. Thanks for this. Got this one and so many other vids of yours saved in their own playlist and I come back to stuff again and again repeatedly over time.

Great Video Jeff! I have a question I just can’t seem to get an answer to: I have the MK3 and a Komplete A25 controller. My main DAW is Studio one. My question is how do I use my A25 controller on a patch in the MK3? Although I love the pads on the MK3 & love the keyboard & chord modes, sometimes I would like to quickly create my own CHORD voicings on the A25 controller. Any help with this would be so appreciated. Thx in advance Jeff!

Hello. thanks for the video. when I use M + in standalone it happens to me that at a certain point playing the pads a noise is heard in the audio, an annoying distortion of the sound especially in the attack as soon as I hit the pad. This with any sound and with cpu at 45/48% no more. I have done all the updates but the problem remains. Can you give me some help? Thank you

Hi Jeff, have you made any videos about Maschine clips by any chance?
@UrbanGarden-rf5op9 күн бұрын
To understand how the envelope (ADSR) works, think of string instruments. When you pluck, strike or bow a string, the speed and force (velocity) will affect how fast and loud the initial attack of the sound is (A). The "velocity" can also affect the pitch, making the initial attack slightly sharp. And the amount of harmonics, affecting the brightness of the note (filter opening). The level, pitch and harmonics of the note then decays (D) down to a sustain level (S). On a guitar or a piano the sustain portion morphs into the release phase if you just hold the note and don't use special techniques or fx. On a violin the sustain portion is extended as long as you keep moving the bow. You can even control the sustain level and harmonics content continuously using bowing techniques (like using aftertouch on a keyboard). The same applies to wind instruments. The release time (R) depends on how you end the note. Different results depending on the type of instrument and choices like muting or letting the note(s) ring naturally. On a violin you can fade out the note using bowing technique. On some synthesizers/keyboards you can use release velocity to affect the release time. Thanks for a well presented guided tour. ✌✌

@11:40: IMO, it would be better to go change the root key over on the zones page. If you use that method, the math of the pitch controls in the sampler is easier Video suggestion for you: Using single cycle waveforms in maschine. There's a big collection you can find by searching for "adventure kid". The shaping controls in maschine work well with the concept; and you get a ton of sound options without requiring a lot of space on maschine+.

Jef, I've really been enjoying your channel and respect what you do - which is why I'd love to hear your take, to help me out with a little conundrum over here... which is deciding between getting a Maschine Mk3 or Live 11 Suite + Push 2 (I can get a great deal of the latter combo for same $ as a new Mk3). I have zero hardware, only my macbook. Making beats/music for a couple months now. Mainly I've been using Serato Studio, then Logic, but I'm a bit familiar with Maschine software too from collabing with a friend. Currently trialling Live 11. I really prefer the "session view" workflow that Ableton/Maschine have VS strictly linear arrangement type DAWs. I have no music theory background, but want to get more hands on with creating. Obv stuff like chords mode (Mk3, great video you did on that!) or learning chord shapes on Push 2 would be super helpful with that. I don't mind the computer per se though. I love making hip hop rn, but I can see myself wanting to make neo soul stuff, but also ambient or dub techno or whatever in the future. I'm leaning towards Live + Push because the deal seems too good to pass up. Can always sell off the Push if I don't gel with it. Only a bit worried Live might be more than I really can take advantage of and maybe Maschine would be more streamlined experience....
@jefgibbons2 жыл бұрын
Man, great questions. I have a massive hangup with Live Session view where you can’t really edit without starting from the beginning of an entire scene… it’s hard to explain but it’s a complete showstopper for me! I also hate the quantizing features of Live. Other than that, it’s a beautiful environment for live performance (not just a clever name!) and it has better sample time stretch and pitch shift systems than Maschine. I prefer Maschines version of session view much more than Live’s. The main thing I’d say is get what you have around you… if you have people in your circle you can learn from using one or the other I’d go with that… you can collaborate and talk shop with that person and it is just way more fun!

Also... I make a lot of beats and love the expansions, but really struggle with creating things on my Komplete Kontrol keyboard. I watch you do everything on Maschine and then I struggle to translate onto my KK system, using Kontakt, Komplete Kontrol, Maschine plugin, Massive X, Monark, etc... and am struggling. I have found your keyboard/maschine videos, but nothing seems to just nail it all down extensively. What do you think? Am I off base with that observation? Also, I do know that you are more geared toward Maschine hardware users, of course, but was just wondering... I do not to drop more $ on hardware right now.
@jefgibbons2 жыл бұрын
Hi Don, I don't quite understand your question/ observation... I use the Maschine a lot in my videos for playing stuff, but tend to do more on the keyboard on my own. I like showing how much you can actually do with just the hardware, and little keyboard skills (most of my followers).
@DonHajicek2 жыл бұрын
@@jefgibbons sorry to be unclear. You obviously do a brilliant job showing how the Maschine hardware works to make these beats using expansions, etc. I’m not a keyboard player, by any stretch; but the hardware I DO have is the Komplete Kontrol Keyboard. When I watch you demoing expansions and the features of the Maschine hardware, I wonder how that would translate to the KK hardware. Basically, “how would I do everything he’s doing on Maschine hardware using my keyboard?” Sorry if I’m just being dense about this. How do I take advantage of NI expansions just using my Komplete Kontrol keyboard, and do everything Jef is doing on his Maschine+ right now? Is that even possible? I mean, I have keys instead of pads, but, other than that..? Make more sense? I just can’t seem to sort this out.

I'm considering an MKIII purchase and had a question related to this. When I saw the title, I was hoping you worked with drums. Any way, a question I couldn't answer looking at the manual. I see velocity can modulate start, delay, cutoff & of course, volume. But can velocity modulate pitch?
@jefgibbons2 жыл бұрын
Not that I can think of… but if it’s drum related, don’t forget you can click on a snare then hit keyboard mode, then play the sample and move up or down the pitches… great for pitching a snare roll and much more precise than velocity would be!
@Bezowinz2 жыл бұрын
@@jefgibbons that would only allow for semi-tone variations I believe. I'm looking for something much more subtle; a bit more brightness for louder hits, less for softer hits. Or can that be done in keyboard mode? Or maybe another way?
@jefgibbons2 жыл бұрын
@@Bezowinz Only thing I can think of would be to assign the pitch bend to something very small (like 0.1) and then use the slider to control the subtle pitch changes...
