Looks like the DR650 with 6.6 gallon tank. 366lbs stock plus a bit more for fuel so close to 400lbs. Not cheap but I do like the ramp style. Thanks for this better view.

The quality and ease of use really makes it worth while.

Are you still able to open the trunk? while mounted ( while the hydraulic Is still on the ground)
@Sherides2adv Жыл бұрын
You could open the back when it's in the down position, but you'd have to tilt the bike a little for clearance. You cannot open while it is all the way up (also, be sure to shut the hatch before loading - seems obvious, but I have managed that mistake.). Ideally, you want to load the bike last before heading out.

Thanks for the great video! Is that a factory trailer hitch, what is the tongue weight limit? Thanks, Randy
@Sherides2adv3 жыл бұрын
Yes that is a factory tow package. The tongue weight limit is 500 lbs.
@jeffmiller24872 жыл бұрын
What is the platform weight ? They don’t seem to publish it. Thanks and great review !
@Sherides2adv2 жыл бұрын
It is a stout unit that comes in two pieces: the hydraulic mechanism and the platform (rail). According to the site, each piece is less than 40 lbs. I’ve never weighed it, but I’d say not much less than that (40 lbs) for each piece.
@TonyRodriguez-xn1ft4 жыл бұрын
As an option, could you role the bike off going forward?
@Sherides2adv4 жыл бұрын
The unit is designed to load one way, but you could offload either way if you want to although, generally speaking, backing it out would be the easiest way.

I am thinking of maybe getting this carrier..still working for you well? Thanks 😊
@Sherides2adv2 жыл бұрын
It is well-built and worth every penny. It makes loading easy, which is welcomed after a long day of riding.....or any other time.

I do have a question. Let's say you went out riding and you came back in. Put your bike on the rack and your 1st pump your jack seal blows out and you're by yourself with the nobody else around?
@Sherides2adv Жыл бұрын
It's important to care for your equipment and do inspections before heading out. That said things can still go wrong. I carry a spare jack. It's cheap insurance.
@tjhoss6729 Жыл бұрын
@@Sherides2adv That's awesome😃 I didn't know the Jack is that easily Replaceable, great idea😊 I've been shopping around I have a Toyota Tacoma with a camper shell So looking for something that I don't have to completely take a part to sleep in the back of the truck if I'm traveling. It's either that or put a front hitch on the truck, don't No if I want to do that🤔 Thank you for your video.

@@tjhoss6729 I'm pulling a trailer now and have a hitch on the front for my smaller bike. Utilizing the back is better, if you can.

Unfortunately, no. The GS is too heavy. The maximum load on this carrier is approx. 450 lbs.

Why did u select Ramp vs platform MX Hauler?
@Sherides2adv3 жыл бұрын
I selected the ramp for ease of use. I'm short and wanted to be able to load the bike by myself, especially after a long day of riding where I many be fatigued.

How did your trip go? Any problems with the lift? Car handle OK?

Do you have links for ramp? Also some people suggest to anchor the bike from the fork clamps, not the bars

Here is the link to the site ultimatemxhauler.com/?SR2. Thanks for the suggestion - I'll look into it.

Can you open the hatch on your 4 runner?
@Sherides2adv2 жыл бұрын
No, you can't. When I first got it, I left the hatch open and loaded the bike only to find out, or notice, that you can't open/close while towing. Woops. Rookie error.
@ryanheidenfeld64332 жыл бұрын
How about with the bike lowered, can the hatch open?
@Sherides2adv2 жыл бұрын
@@ryanheidenfeld6433 Not easily. You'd have to loosen and tip the bike to the side. I don't find it to be a huge deal. My back window goes down so I can easily reach in for items. You just have to pack first and pack according to accessibility needs.
