The greatest 370z guide ive seen online so far! Just wanted to mention, Gallery gaskets should be done around the 150,000km mark and on all models because the screw issue happens to them all. A little known issue is the steering rack tensioner will leak, you wont notice anything, until you use silicon spray on it, suddenly it will feel so much better on turns. The other common issue is the boot springs, this can be fixed by adding a washer underneath your boot springs or buying stronger springs.

I have a 2019 370Z 6MT sport that I have owned since new. I have only used the Nissan ester oil and changed it every 3k miles with an oversize Fram Ultra Synthetic filter. I have 58k miles on the car and the oil level hasn't dropped from the full mark at the end of my oil change intervals since the engine was fully broken in. I'm putting down 321 rwph with a Stillen Gen 3 CAI, a Fast Intentions x-pipe CBE and an EcuTek dyno tune from Specialty Z in Simi Valley, CA.
@HustleGarageTV
@HustleGarageTV 4 ай бұрын
Ooo that’s nice numbers from just those 3 mods. I would say every 3k is bit overdoing it with oil changes, as at 3k miles even mine doesn’t drop from full mark at 190k km. But if it does make you feel comfortable and confident in the car it’s okay

@@HustleGarageTV In looking at used oil analyses of this oil in the VQ37 engine, it shears down to about a 20 weight oil at 3k miles. As you know, this engine really beats up on the oil because of the VVEL valvetrain.

Just a small correction regarding the gallery gaskets, you can not get an oil pressure reading using just an obd 2 reader, you do in fact need an oil pressure gauge in order to get that reading as the factory computer does not output that information and does not have a sensor for it besides the basic dummy switch to tell you at the very last second that your oil is gone
@HustleGarageTV
@HustleGarageTV 5 ай бұрын

I've had my 2017 Sport for close to two years now and I've never had a problem with the CSC. I bought a clutch kit and heavy duty CSC to have on hand for when it does fail, but changing the fluid and running a good quality DOT4 such as Motul 660 will go a long way in extending the life of the part. I can't help but wonder how many CSC failures occurred due to people simply not changing the fluid.
@HustleGarageTV
@HustleGarageTV 8 ай бұрын
Nicee! Fluid changes does help but with the csc being made with plastic, you can only do so much until it fails. Mines a 2010 370z and the csc or stock clutch still hasn’t failed After multiple track days and daily driving. But it is a part that does fail because the part itself is typically weakened by the material and environment it’s in.

A lot of great points in here, there’s only a few very small things I think you left out. As per the gallery gaskets failure, this is an issue that primarily affected pre 2013 model year Z’s, and some 2013 M/Y Z’s still do have paper gaskets, it is unknown whether there is a specific date that Nissan changed to metal gaskets. Another thing that changed was the header design from the early model 370z’s to late model Z’s. The pre-2013 headers were more restrictive and were changed to a wider airflow setup around 2014ish, from what I recall. I’ve heard that LTH are worth the money if you have the original style, but not Vice versa. Also, after having a 30 row oil cooler on my car for over a year, I’d recommend getting a 20 row cooler unless you track the car. With a 30 row it can be hard to get up to operating temperature if the outside temperature is low (ex. 30-40° F).

@HustleGarageTV
@HustleGarageTV 4 ай бұрын
Thank you for watching! Mmm that’s very subjective. Some people do daily turbo/sc Zs some people don’t. It all depends on your preference. Seeing as it’s TT would have a heavy clutch which to me personally wouldn’t be ideal if you’re in a higher density area especially stop start traffic which also wouldn’t be good for a TT set up. But it’s all up to your preference hahaha

@redline350zHR
@redline350zHR 2 ай бұрын
@@SuperWerewolf56i know exactly what it is…might be difficult to explain. Ok so try this: WAIT to put the car into PARK..when parking your car on incline, hold the brakes (foot) hard, keep it pressed, shift into PARK, PULL EMERGENCY BRAKE TIGHT (keep foot on brake pedal) then release foot off brake ONLY after you pulled emergency brake tight. (NOT extremely tight, but tight enough). Now..this is important: When parked on incline, getting into your car PRESS BRAKE down (HOLD foot on brake this entire process) Start car, shift into REVERSE (release parking brake) WHILE FOOT STILL ON BRAKE PEDAL and in REVERSE, then release brake pedal to start moving…. Heres the thing..if you did this correctly, there will be NO CLUNK during this entire process. Believe it or not, that clunk you described is the transmission holding the weight of the car in PARK, causing tension when you go to shift lever from PARK to REVERSE or PARK to DRIVE. The trick is to keep MAJORITY if not ALL weight of car on Emergency/Parking brake (lever you PULL) The parking brake is made for this reason and this is the way to do it. Most people put car in park on an incline, then come off the brake and then pull up parking brake lever. Also some do it correctly (as i described, BUT they do it without holding their foot HARD ENOUGH on the brake pedal, therefore still leaving the weight of car on an INCLINE OR DECLINE on the transmission itself. Any questions LMK HOPE THIS HELPS!!
