Beautiful build. A couple of suggestions for future videos: A deep dive of your work setup, how you deal with Starlink dropouts on video calls and links to some of the products you are using.

Very thorough detail of the Baja. Frankly better than any video I’ve seen from the mfg’er. The rig has a ton of storage! Nice modifications! What kind of jack are you using? I assume your spare is underneath in the stock position and full size to match. Thanks. You seem happy with the rig.

Thank you for your kind words and for watching my video. I appreciate it!!!! I upgraded from the factory hitch to the Carli Trophy Hitch to accommodate the matching size spare tire. I have a Bottle Jack with integrated Jack Stand. It has a large bottom plate and should ideally perform well on softer ground as well. I am on the lookout to add a 2x6 or 2x8 piece of wood for additional stability underneath the jack for certain terrains.

What brand of double pane plexi windows are those? I need to replace my single pane glass windows and I’m trying to find someone who makes the right size

I'm an hour or two from you. And I'm in my last two months of my Rig build. My rig is about the same size as yours. And the build story is on the Expedition portal "Isuzu npr 4wd". I decided not to do a DIY build, rather buy three main components with warranty. My habitat is new "turn key" and will be on the ship to arrive in Long Beach, circa Feb 1st. The habitat is a composite build with a cab over queen bed.

Would love to see your rig when it is ready. Happy to meet up. Did you order a Box from Box manufacture that it is coming by ship?

Looks like my comment didn’t post or it might post twice. I have an early edition Baja with the 6 1/2 foot bed and the door is in the rear. I’ve been debating selling mine and getting the full size like you have. Quite a few things about the 6 1/2 foot bed that I don’t like as well as some quality issues. I cut a piece of thinsulate the same size as the mattress and put it under to keep the cold out. Can’t feel it under the mattress. It works quite well and relatively cheap.

Hi there. I have some leftover thinsulate and will try that. I also bought something similar to the Froli system to prevent mold (at a fraction of the cost of the Froli system). I was considering the shorter Baja, but did not like the door. I would expect too much dirt (and moisture when it rains) to come inside as well as being concerned about how long that door would last. The layout could work, but I think it requires some previous experience to go into the build to make it work. Even though my previous rig "made me lose some money", the learnings from that rig went into my Baja and it makes it all worth it. I think it would be a good move to go with 8 ft. bed and better layout, but you know your use-case better. I compered mine to the newer Baja Plus as well as the Megatron and Hilt. For the me, the Baja does the trick. I do not need more space and while the Baja Plus would make life a tiny bit more comfortable, the extra cost is just not worth it to me.

@@dtadventure4x4 I agree with you, the Baja starts to get into earth roamer category and that is too big for me. I want to stay with a 3500 chassis and also much cheaper then those bigger rigs. I have not had any issues with the rear door in terms of weather, but the 20 seconds it takes to open with the motor feels like 5 minutes when you want to go in and out quickly. I haven't seen a single rear door Baja since mine, unless they don't post them. The dinette runs vertical and can barely fit two people let alone 1 person. When your roof is closed does it rest on the actuators or does it have a "home base" it rests on? I always thought it was strange that the roof closed is just pivoting between the 4 actuators and not locked down if that makes sense

Did you buy your Baja directly from Rossmonster?
@dtadventure4x4Ай бұрын
Yes, I did. I placed my order about 3 months before they changed their distribution model and pricing. I would reach out to them and discuss what your options are with them. I'd hesitate to deal with an RV salesman as the middle man.
