These electronic drums from then are very complicated than it is now. You see the electronic drums now are easy (it depends) and sounds better. I like electronic drums that has the sound of a acoustic drums. I'm not too crazy of sounds from the 80's I only like the Bobby Z sound from Prince and The Revolution from 1999 to Purple Rain.

Hi Trevell, Bobby Z used simmons pads (for Purple Rain era at least, and probably for the 1999 album) but used a couple of Linn LM-1s that had special chips of Prince's studio sounds and some trigger modifications for the pads to work. There may be pics of the Paisley Park LM-1s online somewhere as I recall Bruce Forat (forat electronics in LA) had them a year or two ago. Amazing historical items - Prince left us way too early.

I have three brains, just working out how many UP5 pads I have to make up a kit, but may sell one on Ebay or Reverb in the future. The Up5X is the best brain as that was slightly updated and has the rack ears.
