On the 992 you have to turn the mirror counter clockwise in order to remove that third plastic cover (where the Fitcamx will replace.) This is clear as per Fitcamx own instructions and I know this firsthand as well. If you try to force the third plastic piece off as in this video here you will break some of the tabs.

The instructions from FitcamX show that the mirror itself can be twisted off it's base to give more room to work. In your case..not needed?

It’s is indeed needed. Twist the mirror off on the 992.

Great video, you may want to do the Porsche Design Sport Chrono clock retrofit next. I installed it and it really cuts down on the reflection at night onto the windshield.

@@faisalaly9281 I all most did the ducktail, but decided to get the AeroKit. I felt with the wide 992 body, the ducktail would look out of place. However looking at the Sport Classic it looks really good.

Great video. I just got a new 992 Carerra T and I did not get the pre-wiring for the Porsche Dash Cam but this one looks legit. What do you think about getting the one with the rear camera as well? My dealership is charging $2200 for the Porsche Dash Cam with installation. Seems a little steep! Any suggestions since you have used this for a while now

dose the cam work 24/7 or dose it work with motions. or only when the car is on?

Did you remove the mirror? It helped me just a little but enough to complete the job. The position of the wiring at reassembly is essential so try different ways of stuffing them back in. It took me 3 or 4 tries to finally get it all back together. Patience is the key. Take a break and come back - that's what I did. It can be done but its a lot harder than shown by all.

I tried this product in my 971 Panamera, it should fit, but I got some screws inside the cap, which made me unable to detach the cap.

I was looking forward to seeing you struggle with disassembling and assembling this thing and you left it out of the video. I'm trying to do mine right now and I find that it is a hell of a lot harder than the existing KZbin videos show. This video was useless to me.
