This moveset is brilliant, I would suggest some slight changes though... 1. Swap Down and Neutral B 2. Change side b to something else (maybe like that kart move from the brawl Toad Moveset Mod) 3. Scale it down a bit so he isn't the same height as Mario Other than that huge props on the project, looking forwar to play it!

The tilts, smashes and throws are brilliant. Dash and up special, too. Personally I had hoped that all the specials and at least some aerials would include Mario game references. And I would have swapped neutral and down special. Anyways, great mod, great character.

I will say that this looks super fun with all the movement from side B and forward throw and the fact that this is even in the game is phenomenal. that said this moveset is the biggest example of flicky syndrome I've ever seen in a moveset if you know what I mean you know what I mean if you don't context: kzbin.infoUgkx9PT5ZqmxImTk8eY2-DE_zlPBZg3-bvyy again the moveset looks super fun and I appreciate all the hard work going into it but at a point you need to show restraint with what you include in a moveset but still great job I'll totally download this and the mod as a whole (the moment I can get my switch emulator to work)

​@@thelastgogeta Flicky syndrome is slapping on references on a character that doesn't fit. The example that originated the term is when a KZbinr made Sonic's Down Smash summon two flickies while crossing his arms. Another example is Nick All-Star Brawl making Patrick put a trophy on his head for an Up Smash. Ways to avoid flickies is to use fighting/platformer moves. For example, Sonic using his Axe Kick is not flickies because it's an apparent battle move. Flickies can also be avoided by using the references on extremely wacky characters (such as Pac-Man) or collection characters (such as Villager or Mr. Game & Watch) so long as they feel satisfying to use when the reference is showcased and it's clear what type of move it is (Up Smash, Down Tilt, Neutral Air, etc). Personally, I'd say Ultimate S Toad avoids the problem since the moves look impactful enough, and Toad can be considered both a goofy and a collector character since he often gives out powerups and items in games.

@@thelastgogeta Yeah, Patrick is a wacky character so it could've worked. The problem was the lack of impact. If he put it on then did Mario's Up Smash or thrust the trophy up a lot harder and then put it on, the flicky problem could've been avoided.

@@gabethepaper3916 I think a lot of the references they chose are very off though, a lot of things that just aren’t associated with Toad like bob’ombs, shells, Thwomps and the dive from the 3D Mario games.

This is such an awesome mod. I always thpugh thai if they're never gonna update Mario's moveset, they should at least add someone to represent the power-ups in the Mario series, and Toad is a really smart pick for that. Also, I love Toad's forward throw being him chucking other players off the stage. I'm all for self-aware humor like that.

FYI: Toad is exclusive to Ultimate S, and no they aren't making a separated Toad one (at least not any time soon nor short-term) so this is Akuma with Championship Edition all over again

Hopefully in the near future we can find out how to code new slots on the fighter select screen so we can have more custom characters and not replace characters like this and Goku mod BC when that achievement is made we are most likely achieving the next ultimate modding stage

Incredibly well made and one of the best Ult mods I've ever seen, although my only complaint is the Smash attacks seem very "Sonic spawns two Flickies either side of him" tier. They look a little janky because of it and easily could have just been similar to the smash attacks Mario/Luigi have.

This looks awesome. Although I'm assuming he's pretty light due to his small size, and with that in mind his recovery seems pretty bad. Would be cool if after the ascent he slowly floats downwards until you hit down on the control stick and you can move left and right with his regular air speed until you hit down on the control stick, which would have him fall normally and put you into helpless.

Great work! Honestly looks just on par with the base game characters in terms of quality. My only criticism is the model looks just a bit to...long? I think maybe making him a tad bit shorter would be good. I also kinda feel the side and to a lesser extent down special are a little generic, I think side b could use the cart similar to the kingbob brawl mod if that's possible to do in ultimate, and maybeoving the carrot pull to down special and making neutral the ice ball from ice/penguin toad could be cool but less necessary. Overall good work though!

i think the one issue with this kit is Dash Attack,, as toad has never been able to use the Blue Shell item a better option for his dash attack imo wouldve been to make him do the head spin from strikers :)

While I am very impressed with the amount of effort put into this, like really this is really cool. But.. the moveset itself is kinda bad I'm sorry. The aerials and the specials are fine mostly, although I feel like Down B & Neutral B's placements are weird and while I get trying to be distinct from peach, I think sticking with turnips would've been better, if anything thematically it'd make sense for it to be turnips since it'd share something in common with his ruler. But the rest of the moveset is.. kind of too much. I think Smash Attacks are a fine place to put wackier moves but the tilts and the smash attacks all look too cluttered with references and the moveset lacks cohesion because of it. It's just random stuff Mario can do because it's random stuff Mario can do, and I wish there was more focus on the Toad/Mushroom focused side of the species like using more Mushroom powerups instead or maybe using some abilities Toads have used before or are known for using, maybe pull from the Captain a little? The Smash Attacks in question are easily the worst part of the moveset. And it's because they're just straight up not really attacks nor do I feel they really resemble them in a fitting way. I get Villager and Isabelle do the same thing too but they're pacifist characters and that sort of animation style fits that since they aren't really fighters, but Toad 100% is and I think the Smash attacks just don't fit him. Dare I say it they're an example of the "Flickies" syndrome. Down Smash especially just looks so odd, it's literally Toad getting squashed and going through pain and thats one of his attacks? It doesn't make much sense to me, it just feels like it was put in just for the sake of reference. The playstyle itself is fine, although again it feels more like an alternative Mario over an actual Toad moveset which is a shame. Still looks fun and I appreciate the effort, which I suppose is all that really matters at the end.
