@@demonderpz7937 Rogue is a great class for the early game but once you get Rogue to level 3 (or 4 for the feat) it's better in almost every way to either respec and multiclass back into Rogue at level 2, or multiclassing into Rogue at level 2. On one hand, you get 3 proficiencies with Rogue which can make dialogue, lock picking or stealth easier. On the other hand, guidance + bardic inspiration for dialogue and high dexterity for stealth (wood [half] elf gets free stealth proficiency) and lockpicking. Furthermore, Rogue does not get an extra attack at level 5 and instead gets more sneaky attack damage. In combat the combo of cunning hide followed by sneak attack does great damage early game when everyone does mostly low damage, but it uses both your action and bonus action. On ranged builds I can get even more damage by going 2 War Cleric --> 3 Rogue --> 5 Ranger --> 2 Fighter.

ive reached act 3 with your immortal ice wizard build its actually so broken and the ability to share your charges at level 6 abjuration wizard makes it very useful for staying alive in tough battles also you should make a spore druid build as its my favourite class so far my build is built around the Gloves of Belligerent Skies and shillelagh with the cacophony staff my levels are 11 spore druid and 1 fighter for proficiencies so i can use better armour and the Infernal Rapier for extra summons

Actually, I'm playing on sneak assassin with pretty simmilar build, but without monk at all. I'll definately try your one, but want to explain my point. So in my build you respec to 4 lvls of rogue - for thief bonus action and dex+19 at 4th lvl. Then 1 lvl for warrior for healing and double wielding passive. Then 2 warlock lvls for hex and memento mori but also for eldrich invocations - devil's sight and one with the shadows. With these passives u don't need to waste your ring slot for seeing through darkness ability and some nice but nish invisibility. Then on 8 lvl we get warrior's action surge. On a 9 lvl we get champion subclass for better crits. 10 lvl - savage attacker, 11 lvl - warrior's second attack per turn, 12 lvl - your own choice, not restricted. So in this case you can see through darkness (at a higher range) always passively and can use in my opinion the best ring for our sneaky peaky critty boy - risky ring. Not every fight scenario in the game will let us use darkness before starting the fight, so having constant advantage on every enemy is pretty usefull. Other things and tweaks are simmilar to your's build.

Goated vid as always. Nizar, since elden ring is getting a new DLC, I think now would be great time to flip back to doing some elden ring builds. If you do decide to that; could you try and make a “jack of all trades” build? Essentially a build that can be used for any play style with option of changing it around for fun basically just being able to use all the different weapons, sorceries, incantations etc. I’ve seen others make these builds but they were for PVP whereas Im looking for a build for the story instead. Idk if you’ve already done this but I’d appreciate if you’d give it a go!

Nice build. My question would be what team would you select arpind this guy ? I can understand having a warlock with Devil's sight to cast Darkness as well and see in the dark too. But then, what are the other choice ? No other companions ? Having a character that basically blinds the foes and the teamates can be tricky to build around no ?

I would say a light cleric who uses spirit guardians would be a good choice and like you’ve said, Warlock with Devil’s sight is a good choice as well. Now who would be the 4th guy? I would say focus on a build that deals damage with AoE, like a Fireball focused Sorcerer/Wizard or a Moon Druid who uses bear form and jumps on areas to deal damage.

I personally prefer running a 6 shadow monk/3 assassin/3 gloomstalker. It plays more “shadow style” cause you just kill someone from invis (maybe a second person) and then run away. Definitely can get annoying though because you constantly disengage and reingage fights but everytime you do you kill like 2 people.

Assassin is better for this than Thief. you have guaranteed crits on Surprised enemies, you instantly regain your action at the start of combat if you attacked someone to initiate, and you'd be better off dropping Warlock entirely for a 4th level of Rogue for the Feat/ASI, and use the ring that renders you immune to being blinded by magical darkness.

It's Not as straight foward as you Think, everytime that the combat takes more than 1 round, or if you don't know how to surprise certain boss,s which are not as straight forward to surprise tief it's already better, plus all the point of the build its to increase your critical chance so you will be doing a lot of crits without the assassin feature anyway so assassin already loses value. Now, if you want to play a build that doesn't stack crit, then assassin gets more value, but not in this particular build. In the end the game it's easy enough that all of this won't matter, unless you playing solo or duo honor mode.

If he was going rouge he should've gone 1 level of war cleric instead of warlock to properly utilise it. Otherwise yes Assassin would've been much better even then the warlock really isn't necessary and is better to put in for another feat through rouge.

I’m playing tavern brawler monk and it’s broken even without elixirs Started 17 str, 14 dex, 10 con, 8 int, 16 wis, 8 char Tavern brawler, asi strenght, asi wis (can pick alert) Playing it with no gear too, plenty of gear you could use for it

This build is sick. The cool thing is that you don't necessarily need to max Dex because you're criting on 16-20 minimum, 15 with elixir, so when you have advantage all the time with darkness or hiding, you'll be critting so often you don't need the better hit chance. Your dice scale scale harder too. I put more into charisma and took two of warlock instead of action surge for the ranged flexibility, feels great.

Don't sleep on the Dark Justiciar Helmet from the Gauntlet of Shar. It has the same effect as the Covert Cowl but gives +1 to CON saves instead of DEX and an additional +1 to saves against spells.

PSA for Darkness: only creatures inside darkness are blinded. Any creature outside of darkness can see into it *if* they have darkvision. The 5e Spells Mod will give you the ability to use darkness as it is in 5e: you can cast it on yourself, and thus it will move with you. Another way to play this kind of build is the zer0TurnKill method. Have expertise in stealth from rogue. Cast pass without trace on yourself, and have someone cast greater invisibility on you. Now you can run around instant killing things from invisibility, and so long as you continue to pass the stealth checks, never have combat even initiate.

I love the idea of this build and want to try it immediately, but I feel like the darkness is limiting for the rest of your party. What other classes/builds do you want to pair with this? How are you using combat strategy to maximise other party members? The video covered what you want to do with your character, but not what you want to do with the other members in your party as this is not a solo build.

I thought about it and if you go for his Ice Mage build and his crit machine warlock/sorlock you get dark vision on both of them. Then you can round that up with a 7 Paladin/5 Warlock pact of the blade frontliner. Granted the Paladin would only get dark vision at level 9

You didn't mention the Elixir of Viciousness for even more crit chance. I tried this max-crits approach, and honestly, found it a bit underwhelming. When crit procs - well, you're golden. When it doesn't - you stuck with smth like 9-14 dmg, and basically just standing there in a hope to survive. It's a "risky" build on it's nature, for sure, but... if there are stable options, giving the same or better damage output, then why bother? Except of roleplay, of course. I also saw a few weird mechanics or bugs, idk, which hurt stealthy builds. Maybe someone can tell me what is that and why it works that way: 1. Somehow enemies can throw things inside a Darkness cloud. They can't target you with weapons or spells, but can throw stuff right into you face - thus still dealing pretty solid damage even when you're supposed be safe. 2. The "Hide" action lives it's own life and you never can rely on it's available. It just becomes inactive sometimes, and I have no idea why. I went with Assassin instead of Thief, in attempt to abuse the "Ambush" passive (guaranteed crits on surprised enemies). Engage, attack all you can, hide - pass all revelation checks due to high bonuses - enemies think you aren't here anymore and combat ends - start all over. And, well: I engage, do my attacks - and "Hide" action is unavailable. Even when I disengage close combat range after that. Even when I'm not in any cone of sight. EVEN when I'm inside Darkness! It seems just random. And so you stand alone in a room full of enemies and be like "ooops...". So I ended up sitting in a distance inside Darkness and just shooting everything - either with eldrich blast, or with a normal bow as a Hunter Ranger. Works much better and stable than melee 😕

So what about 3 lvls in ranger/gloomstalker instead of the fighter/warlock lvls. This would give you even more initative, and an extra atack turn one instead of action surge and the warlock stuff. Also, i would prefer asassin over thief with this combo, so that you atacks reset when you atart the fight out of invis with a double atack. Thoughts?

I wonder is it possible to be efficient as full-power shadow monk. Shadow Strike at lvl 11 is insane, +3d8 Psychic - but it's level 11... you can't mix with it pretty much anything. The only reasonable option seems to be that 1 lvl Warlock for scary crits, if you're going for crits build (also it thematically fits the idea). Or a never-getting-old War Priest. Combining Shadow Strike with the Shadow Blade as main weapon, and Strange Conduit Ring, and Psionic Overload, gives grandtotal of 5d8 + 2d4 Psychic damage on Shadow Strike. Pretty fun) But concentration is constantly spent on Shadow Blade, so you can't cast your Darkness / Silence / Pass Without Trace. Questionable... And how reasonable it is to go with a pure psychic damage - also a big question.

Ok, I just completed an evil playthrough with this build and I have a couple of tips for someone who wants to add it to their party, and a few changes I think that spice it up. -This build works great with another character who can wield Shar's weapon (the spear) after killing Selune's daughter. This weapon allows you to cast Darkness as an action, without any kind of rest required. Not only that, it makes the character holding the weapon inmune to blindness. This allows another character on your party to cast the spell and provide support inside the spell, without suffering from the blindness effect. -Don't go Monk 7, go monk 6, and pick another fighter level. With two levels in fighter you'll get an extra action, it sucks to not have the teleport... however... you already have two bonus actions, and you can dash to most places. If you pair this up with the lightning charge boots, then you can stuck up damage before unleashing your attacks to your enemies. It pairs great with thief. -Helldusk helmet also makes your character inmune to blindness. Which you can give to a third character, so three members of your party can join in the dark and wreck havoc. This is great since darkness will debuff your enemies and provide protection to the members inside it, since caster cannot throw spells inside the darken area. This build is insane (the one in the vid). I managed to take down the dragon at the end of the game in just two turns with my Astarion. Darkness is just broken.

Radiating Orb Light Cleric might go well with this build as a party member. I don't think any of the light that build does counters magical darkness and that makes you even more impossible to hit.

another good way to do this would be Fighter (Champion) 3/Rogue (Thief) 3/Monk (Shadow) 6 you miss out on 2 ASI/Feats, but you can make up for it with gear/permanent buffs.

If you are doing this in honor mode you really need alert, so Id go a 4th level in rogue instead of doing the warlock dip to get it

knife of the undermount king and the other equipment not located in the druids grove/underdark area cant be gotten until progressing into act 2. if you go to the Gith base or the forge area before resolving the story in the druids grove it pops up a message about progression of the main story. at least that is how I took it based on that message in the game.

The ironhand gnomes in act 3 have gloves that add +2 to dex if a gnome... works if you shapeshift, just have to equip after the shapeshift and now your dex is 24

Please can someone explain why you need to reclass at level seven. Why not just pick fighter at lvl one and go on to six levels of shadow monk thereafter? What do you gain from those first seven levels of progression as a monk before the reclass at level 7?

I do thief lvl 4 gloomstalker lvl 4 and warlock lvl 4 with right gear I can stand toe to toe with anything basically or do the sneak and kill all lol

How do you view this build vs your OH Monk 9/Thief Rogue 3 build? That monk/rogue build you posted was insane. To make sure I had a successful Honor run the first time, I took 3 of those plus your Lore bard/cleric build for utility and absolutely melted everything. 90% of the time, my party didn't get a full rotation before the fights were over. I've seen more burst builds, yes, but the monk/thief build with 10 Ki points each and 3 short rests with the bard/cleric means I hardly ever took long rests. Every other build that relied on spell slots was just mega strong once until the descaling of spell levels and then no spells. I think the Monk/rogue keeps going and going and going and even out of Ki points they were each 132-208 damage per round (instead of 264-416 with 2 Ki points). I don't think anything can do that over the same period of time before long rests... Do you agree?

Yeah, OH TB Monk is the strongest build in the game, no discussion possible. There is simply not much that can compete with it, so no point in comparing it to other builds. This build is more on the thematic side of things but still very strong and fun. And, I did min-max it as much as possible (but I'm always open to suggestions). I definitely do think that this is the most optimal way to make a Shadow Monk that stays true to the class identity.

NICE. I was thinking about a light domain cleric rogue build. The warding flare and armour proficiency(scale dex) from the cleric is very juicy but the damage output is lowered. Wonder if you could balance those two

you could swap Fighter 2 for Warlock 2 to get Devil's Sight and something like Agonizing Blast, then you can use some another ring.

It's a decent alternative too for sure. My reasoning for going Action Surge (Fighter 2) is because it stacks really nicely with vulnerability from Bloodthirst, frontloads even more damage. Useful versus tanky targets.

The second dagger is attacking at the same time which is the off hand strike attack which is a bonus action
