I really like your idea of squirrel house. My heart goes out for them . I feed them and birds whole winter. After watching your video I am planning to build for them in summer. I like to have one side acrylic clear plastic so that I can observe their life style from my window.

Mine love the sunflower seeds I give them and eat from my hand sometimes and there's a girl and a boy.

How do squirrels make their homes without a box or a suitable hole in a tree from a woodpecker? You always see big bundles of leaves in trees… are those squirrel homes?

Yep! Squirrels will huddle sticks together to make what is called a drey. Look up squirrels drey We have some in our trees, but none low enough to watch with cameras easily

I have a lot of squirrels on my property i would never put wites in or near a squirrel box, squirrels love to chew on wires and cables. Wrong thing to do.

They can’t chew through most metal I’ve learned.

Great question! Don’t have a great answer for you… never have had any issues with them in here. Yet we have a duck house on our property and have a hard time keeping them out! Must be that squirrels use this so often? Not too sure. Wish I had a better answer for you Thanks for watching!

In my opinion, the roof is not airtight. the roof should be made of one piece, it does not allow water to pass through, or the roof should be covered with something tight. I have a question: how is your roof, squirrels?

I understand your concern. But on the underside it had plastic siding barrier, then a small sheet of plywood. Then plastic protecting our cameras. We’ve never once have had an issue with moisture. We just use what we had around and made it work
