@andrewcooper80806 жыл бұрын
I know you know what you are doing, but has Adam and/or you looked into replacing the DE head with a VE head? It cancels the rocker arm issue and allows for more power. VVL is another big plus from a VE head. It is kind a big mod though which requires a different tune and special parts to attach RWD SR20 parts. The VE is a FWD SR20 setup. The Aussies do this swap quite often.

Alberto, does the STATIC timing chain guide have a little slack (1/8 in.) in the plastic that fits to the metal skeleton? I removed mine to replace it, and I noticed the plastic part shifts slightly on the metal skeleton. It shifts length-wise. Look at the guide at 5:38 min. See how the plastic over hangs the metal at the top of the guide? Look at 5:41, and notice how that little "button" midway on the metal base is appears to be at the bottom of its slot, while between 6:36 and 6:40 min. that button shifts from all the way at the top of its slot to midway at 6:40 min. The one I removed did NOT have that shifting in the plastic, but the new one did. The new part is the Nissan part, TENSION SIDE Chain Guide - Nissan (13085-1N500). I also noticed on the guide I removed, there is a stamped image with "SR2" on the plastic part of the guide. The one I ordered has "SR1" on it. Go to 5:40 min. and look at the black plastic at the bottom of the chain guide. There are two circular marks. One of those says SR1 on mine. -----> Did you notice that the plastic shifted on the metal skeleton a little bit? ----->In your opinion, is this shifting a good feature, or is it likely to cause the plastic to break sooner. ----->What do you make of the "SR2" vs "SR1" stamps on the two parts? For anyone who needs the part number of the SLACK SIDE TIMING CHAIN GUIDE ---> Engine Timing Chain Tensioner - Nissan (13091-2J202)

How can you be sure your timing marks line up if u put the timing cover/ oil pump on before the you finish timing the cams? And it doesn’t take that much extra time to properly torque everything I don’t know but for a lot of people who look at these videos for guidance on there own projects I find you cut a lot of corners

You use way to much gasket sealant. You can see how much of it is inside the timing cover. Eventually that's going to fall off and go in the oil pan. And potentially clog up your oil pick up. It happened to speed academy with there s2000 and it happened to me many years ago before I learnt out the hard way. It is only there to take out the tolerance between parts so a very thin film evenly applied with your finger will be enough.

Danny Wanny technically I guess this is overhead valve. It’s just also overhead cam. But overhead cam usually has rocker arms too. They just wouldn’t have push rods. Only ones that never have rocker arms are flathead. (Obviously)
