Haha right?! A couple of mental breakdowns are a part of the experience I’m sure… 😜 we definitely shot ourselves in the foot by having a big menu del dia lunch between the two inclines, too! Just can’t resist that Spanish chorizo… 😂

You're bringing me back to some memories. I remember coming down that hill and eating at the same restaurant and having to climb up the 350m hill. Following my Alltrails, kept us on the road but at the top of the hill, we saw the actual trail joining the road. So somehow, we missed the trail at the bottom. We got into Gijon and had to take the taxi back to camping at Deva because we couldn't find a place in Gijon and in the morning took the bus back. Waiting for the bus, I stepped in a big hole, luckily never got hurt. Anyway I'm going to have to watch the rest of your videos to bring back more memories.

Haha oh wow, that day must be cursed with bad luck for everyone!! 😂 just kidding, it was still a beautiful day, but certainly one of the more challenging ones. We’re so glad we can help you relive your own experience on the del Norte! Now that we’re done with this Camino, we will be doing the same as we edit and post more of our daily vlogs from the Norte (and we’ll have to start planning our next Camino of course! 😉)

Hope you guys enjoyed the zero in Gijon (awesone airbnb!), you totally earned it after doing that section while sick and with blisters! So much of it being on paved roads makes it even harder on the feet.

Yeah it was a tough one 😂 but we try not to sugarcoat things so that people are fully prepared for a huge journey like the Camino! Gijon is a great town, wish we were able to explore more of it but unfortunately we spent the rest day doing nothing but… resting 😂 next time I guess! 😆
