Coool... I enjoyed your video! Made my way here from your Neumann U87ai review video. I am saving up for one next year. And possibly the Neumann v402 mic preamp. Soooooo... Yep, I would like to see a review of the mic preamp with the U87ai when or if you get a chance... Oddly enough, that is actually not the reason for my post.... I enjoyed the tour! It was really cool! I do recommend that you add a very odd piece of gear to your setup if you do not already have one or two.... For your computer, I recommend that you add the Cyberpower 1500LCD. Please make sure that you are plugged into the battery backup inlets. Also, for any gear that will not fit in the alloted inlets, then add a Cyberpower Systems UPS. I lost two computers to power surges, lightning, yadda, yadda, before I saw the value in having uninterruptible power supplies. And no, I do not work for the company, buuuuuut I learned the value of the ups the hard way and I see all of your wonderful gear and just think that would suck if you lost your gear on an easy and relatively inexpensive fix. Note: Typically, UPS are recommended for areas where the electrical power is shaky, but now I just recommend the backup units for any gear you want to protect. For example, I have one on my tv and receiver! Guess what? The power just went out last night, but I was not worried about a surge taking out my tv because I knew it was on the ups. In either case, I did subscribe to your channel. Nice work and have a wonderful day.

The Sony MDR-7506 headphones are GREAT! I love them. They're relatively cheap, super comfortable, and very well might be the flattest pair of headphones I've ever heard. I feel like I can hear the entire frequency range easily and without any color to the sound. When listening to music through them I often find myself hearing things that were never clearly audible in other headphones. Best bang for the buck headphones especially if you intend to do any mixing, in my opinion. That Box of Doom looks really interesting! I've been considering different ways to create a guitar amp sound without actually having to drive a regular cab at typical guitar amp volumes; I value my hearing and am not interested in completely blasting my small house full of obnoxiously loud noise, having it bleed through the walls so that the neighbors can hear it. I'd kind of prefer to still have a tube amp to drive the signal but I've been a little confused by what my options are for attenuating the amp and getting the audio into the interface. Or do I skip the amp and run some kind of modeling rig straight into the interface? The Box of Doom looks like a really awesome, and extremely straightforward option. I would love to see a video discussing more about it! This video has been very informative, as are all of your videos. I'm working on creating my own little recording space in a corner of my house and am still in the research process as I try to determine what will work best in my own space.
@nancybeckett8903 жыл бұрын
The Sony MDR-7506 are totally NOT flat. A graph of their frequency response curve has so many hills and valleys it will give you nausea from all the ups and downs! These phones have a piercing boost in the 5K to 7K range that is as high as the Great Escarpment in the Johnny Weismuller Tarzan movies. These phones are guaranteed to give you ear fatigue in a very short time.

Thank you for the video. It is worth noting that your actual focal length that you get from your sigma lens on the camera you use it with (has an aps-c sensor) gives you the full frame equivalent of 15-52.5. This is a great range to have for streaming. However, be aware of possible "perspective distortion" when using a wide angle lens. Love your videos 🎉 5:06
@Podcastage Жыл бұрын
Thank you very much for the information. I was always under the impression that the crop factor of an ASP-C sensor, particularly Canon was 1.6x meaning if you have a 10mm it would be like a 16mm on a full frame. If you have an 18mm it would be similar to a 28.8mm lens on a full frame. So because it's an 18-35mm lens on a 1.6x crop factor camera, wouldn't it be a full frame equivalent of 28.8 - 56mm?
@fizzingonyajayce3580 Жыл бұрын
@@Podcastage You got me there! Forgot about that. Canon, does indeed use a crop factor of x1.6, you are right about that. Your calculations for the full frame equivalent are thus correct as well. I wrote you a pm (no scam or spam, honest comment, maybe it can help)
