Contact before full extension- I make my players hold a 10lb weight against their chest vs hands fully extended, they catch on real quick. Shoulder drop- I tell them don't drop your shoulder too early. Load your hands- I hold their hands in the same spot and make them move forward and I say your hands stay behind as your body moves forward to create lag. That's worked for me so far. I see your subscriber numbers keep going up. Keep it up.

Love the videos thanks for everything you do - I coach my son's 9-11 year old team. The transition from coach pitch to kid pitch (7-8) has been tough on all the kids. How can I get them to see the ball better - they have good swings mechanically but we're really struggling with 1) getting them to swing at good pitches / swing at all 2) making contact in general - the other thing we have struggle with is kids struggling to learn to pitch with a batter in the box - it seems like all the work we put in on mechanics and their ability to throw strikes goes completely out the window and they start aiming the ball instead of pitching it

I went from either hitting rollover ground balls or weak flyouts to line drives. And I'm now hitting harder than any one on my team and thanks to you for the help

Justin, I really enjoy your videos and I am using a lot of your stuff with my kid. I really appreciate your enthusiasm for teaching. With that said, what are some drills I can do with my 6 year old to address his primary issue: his first post-launch position movement is to drop his hands and flatten his bat. He's then swinging (actually sweeping since he also casts) uphill so he has no power, and cannot hit anything above his waist. Any help would be appreciated. He really loves to hit but needs some success.

Does showing your numbers when your loading cause any disadvantages to the hitter? If you look at yuli gurriel from the houston astros his jersey number is so tucked and he has to open himself up to get that bat barrel to the ball? How is that possible with guys throwing 90 plus?

I hope Houston wins again, Boston looks tough, Dodgers may man up and do it this year GO ASTROS! Great video I always hate it when they say look at the extension after a home run had nothing to do with the hit but sounds good on television.Dennis Ekersely should not be on TV brutal!
