I've used this laser level on a few jobs and it's great 😉 I'm still having problems with comments on KZbin, so your comment might not show, or my replies might show up briefly and then get deleted like the last video that I uploaded. Here is a link to the laser for sale, please note that I am NOT on commission- fave.co/3fjQ3eb You can get £10 off the price of the laser Code No: Z4BBZYMO Start Date: 22/08/20218:00 AM BST End Date: 31/08/202111:59 PM BST I'm off to a Christening today, so it might take me a while to reply to comments. I hope everyone has a great Sunday 😉

@@ultimatehandyman just to let you know i have just ordered one through your link now at lightening deal
@mroek3 жыл бұрын
So I actually ordered one of these, and it was delivered today. Quality is OK, but the laser lines aren't equally sharp/thin all around, so I guess there's some minor impurities in the prisms. However, I also found it to be a little bit out of level. When checking the horizontal, it was off by 2 mm/10 meters in one direction, and in the perpendicular direction it was 1 mm/10 meters off. Spec states +/- 1.5mm /5 m, so it was within spec, but I wasn't completely happy with the accuracy. So here's a tip: The calibration screws are accessible without dismantling the whole thing, just remove the front and side turrets (four tiny screws each), and with a 2 mm allen key (rounded head), it is possible to reach the calibration screws. Keep it in the off/locked position when adjusting, and only adjust in small increments. Also keep in mind that the screws (which are just shifting the balance of the pendulum by moving their weight) aren't completely independent, so when adjusting one plane, the other might also be affected a little. Didn't take me long to get mine more or less perfect. The calibration screws wasn't secured with threadlock or glue, and turned easily. Mount the laser on a sturdy tripod (and make sure it is levelled) when doing this, and use a far wall with a piece of paper (a post-it note works well) to draw a line where the laser hits. Then rotate the laser 180 degrees and check if it still hits the mark. If not, you will have to calibrate that plane. Do the same for the other plane (which is perpendicular to the first), and go back and forth until happy. Ideally, if you set up the laser and draw a mark, the laser line should hit that no matter how you rotate it on the tripod.

When locking the lasers for doing slopes or angles. does the laser blink or does it stay on steady?
@ultimatehandyman3 жыл бұрын
@@Byrkster You can switch it to manual mode, then it will stay on constantly. If it's in automatic mode and you lock it, the laser will blink to let you know it's not level.

I've long wondered if this is something I should get. Thanks for the great explanation of the different modes.

Great video, thanks. I don't think your last comment is quite right. You said its accuracy is plus or minus 4 degrees. I think that's how much out of horizontal it can cope with by using its pendulum. I think its accuracy is plus or minus 1.5mm over 5 metres.

Thanks Mark, You are correct. (must be the statins) Thanks for the comment 👍
@markrowland53933 жыл бұрын
You're too young for statins surely. I'm on them but I'm old and very fat. I'm ashamed to say it, because it's mainly used by overweight ladies, but I have started at Slimming World. I've lost a stone in 5 weeks. Only another 3 stone to go and my BMI will be OK, just! Wish me luck!

@@markrowland5393 I had an heart attack in 2019, so take statins and a couple of other drugs. Heart attacks run in the family, my dad died at 52 from a heart attack. Best of luck with the weight loss 👍

Wow, sorry to hear that. Keep taking the tablets, as they say! Statins are real life savers and you have an active job, so I reckon you'll be OK now. Best wishes, Mark

Nice! I have a spinning 360 but it’s a pain to setup. No pendulum. Needs manually adjusting each time. When it’s setup it’s perfect. Got my foundation less than 10mm all over a big area 🏅 I also have a cheaper self leveller with pendulum BUT it’s not 360. So this definitely fills a gap for me. Thanks for the video. Brilliant as ever - but you knew that already 😁 Have a great Sunday 👍

Accuracy is +- 4° ? Are you sure that's not the range where it can autolevel or did I miss hear you? Accuracy should be something like 1/4 inch at 100 ft or something like that.

It looks great and seems fully featured. A point you missed is that Green Lasers like this one are more easily visible than Red Lasers. I can’t help thinking “Cigman” is a better brand name for an Electronic Cigarette than a Laser Level though! Why not have affiliated links like everyone else?
@ultimatehandyman3 жыл бұрын
I agree about the name, I'm not into affiliate links or products (although I get asked all the time), as I feel it would compromise the integrity of the review. Thanks for the comment 👍

What about calibration certification does the manufacturer offer this as an after market service.

Did you try to measure the accuracy? 4 degrees of accuracy isn't really useful (in fact, it's plain awful), it needs to be better than that. I guess it probably is, but the only way to find out is to measure it.
@mroek3 жыл бұрын
Ok, so I just noticed that 4 degrees is the limit for when it is able to self-level, it's not the accuracy, like you stated in the video.
