I've been loading the Sub-X for 2 years now and have taken a lot of hogs with it. My load of CFE BLK is 11.8 gns with a CCI Mag primer which yields 1065 fps avg with an SD of 9 and 1 inch groups at 100 yds.

These look like a great option to try out! My current sub sonic plinking load for 300 blk has been using Missouri Bullet Company's 238 grain powder coated bullets with 11.0 grains of Vihtavuori N120. It definitely helps having the 300 blk specific pmags for those missiles. The load that works the best for me after weeks of testing using bolt action and several AR platforms in 300 blackout loaded with sub-x bullets is 7.8 gr of Lil Gun. I have harvested many wild hogs with that load with zero issues. Just bought a Iray Rico Bravo and that is a huge game changer for hog hunting when you own the night. My weapon of choice with this load and my new Thermal scope is my Rock River Arms in 300 BLK. I will be folding up wild hogs like cheap tents with this rig.

I did a side by side comparison using H-110 and CFE BLK. Shooting from a 10.5 " suppressed barrel, the difference in SD was very apparent. With comparable velocities, the CFE BLK had SD of 6 with the H-110 showing SD ranging from 40 to 21. I live in an area with extremes of temperatures +90 to -20 and an elevation of just less than 3000 MSL. Because of that, I wanted a FPS in the 1050-1070 range. CFE BLK 12.3 grains was the sweet spot for me.

Do you think this would stabalize in a subsonic 308 winchester round in a 1:10 twist? 24" barrel thanks in advance!

I have a 300BLKT and it is 10.5 in barrel, and I want to get a suppressor. I built a bench, and hope in the next few months, or a bit more, to have the ability to load, and I would like a link to your basic loading bench for beginners. Another person who loads, stated his best balance is the 125gr bullet and optimum speed for this rifle. I like the 147gr, but after I learn to load I may go with the 125 gr Super and try some others in sub.

Gavin, you need to try the 200gr Makers bullets or the 220s. They are much better than the subx bullets

220 grain Berry's plated .308 bullet sitting on top of 6.0 grains of TiteGroup with Federal 205 Small Rifle Primers. Bullet seated for a COAL of 55mm (2.165") I got an ES of 6 fps !!!! and Std Dev of 2 fps! With a standard 8" barrel it will eject the rounds but the BCG does not travel rearward enough to pickup a fresh round from the magazine

Try some Lehigh bullets. I use their 208 gr (I think) controlled fracture 30 cal bullets. Would love to see them tested. If you can’t find those bullets I would send you a few if you would test them.

Cfeblk should probably only be used if you have a picky gun that won’t cycle subs with other powders. it only works well with compressed loads which is annoying for some projectiles. It has the highest charge weights for less rounds per lb, and it generates more gas in the face than anything else. My gun runs 242gr coated cast with 7.5gr lilgun or 8.5gr h110 at 2.05oal. 8 lilgun and 9 h110 with 208elds at 2.15oal is another favorite. Good accuracy and SDs too.

@spyderxtra777, it’s an effing terrible powder! I’m just glad all these yahoos are buying it instead of the powders I prefer.

@@donrichter3523 eh I don’t know if I would say it’s terrible, it just has a very limited application. Being: 300 blackout subsonic loads, ONLY for rifles that have trouble cycling subs, AND only if you are willing to screw around with overall length to insure compressed loads. Currently I use it for my bolt action 300blk, I make sure my loads are compressed and I get great accuracy with it. And gas in the face isn’t an issue with the bolt gun. But I probably won’t buy more when I use it up.

in general, measurement of expansion in the industry doesnt paint the full picture. what is seen is the final expansion, of course meaning the petals had to open up wider before reaching that final expansion.

Poor shot placement. Not meant as an insult. Subs just don't kill as quick unless it's a brain or heart shot.
