Күн бұрын

UTS Chairman and Founder Patrick Mouratoglou sits down with Nick Kyrgios (King Kyrgios) and Alexander Bublik (The Bublik Enemy) ahead of UTS New York this August.
This seventh episode of iconic show "All on the Table" was taped in London, just near Hyde Park, in the meticulously designed space of the bar and restaurant The Aubrey, at the Mandarin Oriental.
The trio dive into everything to do with tennis. From their worse losses, to Kyrgios not warming up and Bublik hating people being late, getting a behind the scenes look at tennis from their perspective. As usual, it's a fascinating chat, where Djokovic, Nadal, Medvedev, Serena, Rune, Wawrinka, Murray, Monfils, but also Roberto Carballés Baena and Paul Jubb happen to be part of the conversation.
0:22 - Losing in practice sets, "I don't know, I can't play"
1:03 - Bublik and Kyrgios in Halle
1:41 - Playing on super fast or super slow courts like in the 80s
3:57 - Serving against players who stand close to the baseline
5:50 - Bublik playing confident players
7:45 - Bublik’s son playing tennis
8:30 - How Bublik came to play tennis
10:06 - Who is crazier out of Bublik and Kyrgios?
13:12 - Wawrinka, Monfils and Murray ending their careers
16:58 - Playing Nadal on clay
18:18 - Bublik becoming more at peace
19:18 - Kyrgios going deep as the worst player in the draw
20:53 - The challenge of playing Djokovic
24:03 - Daniil Medvedev switching gears to become a top player
29:00 - Bublik and Kyrgios playing doubles
30:00 - "Australia ? Except travelling ? It's OK"
31:30 - How Bublik cooked Carballes Baena in Madrid
32:30 - Bublik taking a step up in his career
34:50 - Kyrgios becoming a coach, "for free"
36:56 - How Kyrgios got into tennis, "it just happened"
38:17 - Bublik’s dreams as a child
40:10 - Kyrgios getting motivated as a player
41:28 - Watching Marat Safin, "a legend bro"
41:58 - Kyrgios’ podcast and other things he’s been up to
44:05 - Bublik HATES when people are late, and Kyrgios is never late
47:05 - The magic of the Mouratoglou Academy
50:28 - Bublik can beat anyone, but lower players are the hardest
54:00 - Worst loss for Bublik and Kyrgios
56:05 - Playing on old grass
57:50 - Breaking Djokovic’s serve
59:45 - Kyrgios using trash talk strategically

Love this - Bublik seems such a different and much more mature guy when he's relaxing than on court. Amazing how much they are able to analyse and remember about specific points that they played even years ago.

As a tennis player myself that can play pretty well but not close enough to their level either tournament wise or actual skills wise you transform to a different person when something in your game or in that match isn't working well or at all. This is true every time you're playing unless you're playing completely for fun without any regard to the score

This show is called 'all on the table' so they're just chatting like friends. It's not as if they all spit all the time. I've watched hundreds of matches and to do it once when the umpire has been a real a. (just sometimes they are) you can understand if not excuse.

Crazy how much more mature and composed Bublik is off the court... straight child on it. Kyrgios sometimes too. Lovely chat, great insights. I really wanted them to tak about Sinner/Alcaraz at Wimbledon(assuming this is before WB) though, which Nick threw in there.

Kyrgios always acts like the majority of his career he had to play Federer, Nadal, Murray & Djokovic in their primes. The truth is that he had a good opportunity to break through and make it deep in Slams in his younger days. Federer was never in his prime during Kyrgios' career and Nadal & Murray both had injuries and form slumps in the mid-late 2010s. Even Djokovic had some struggles in 2016/17 when Kyrgios beat him twice. Nick had opportunities the likes of Berdych, Tsonga & Ferrer never did, if he put the work in earlier he could've had greater success.

Kyrgios is such a bullshitter. I've heard him before on a podcast talking about he was obsessed with tennis for a period when he was young and how he idolised tsonga and that he would spend all day watching tennis at the Australian open. Now he's saying that he was never passionate about it and that he didn't idolise anybody? He just says these things to seem cool.
