I think you always go too hard early on with these trains, and too slow later on as a result because every domestique is already dead. A solid 65-70 from Ganna on the first half of the stage is enough to tire down people with lower RES than Bernal (I think his RES is a bit on the lower side on that DB compared to what it should be, but still a solid strat with the good form). And it should tire other domestiques more than yours, which leaves you with fresher domestiques to go absolutely ham on the second to last climb, with a fresh Dennis. If you can go 70-75 with Dennis on the first half of that climb, then 84 with the climbers (I think 84 is still better than 85 for climbers right?), all the AI attacks are doomed to fail and they'll get tired for nothing. Trying to break the peloton by going 90+ in the last kilometers of the early climbs can work on more punchy stages with shorter climbs with more gradient. But on those TdF/TdS long climbs it's about destroying their yellow while keeping yours.

What’s the 84>85 thing? I never knew about it

@@oblo7389 A few years ago people said you used the Mountain stat until 84 and started mixing in the Hill stat from 85. Never knew if it was true or if it's still relevant, but in doubt, I always do 84 if the rider has more MT than HIL, and 85 if he has more HIL.

85 is 100% mountain, 86 is 90% mountain and 10% hill, 87 is 80% mountain and 20% hill, and so forth until 95 is 100% hill.

@@BenjiNaesenTV Are you sure about that? That's one of the things I've wondered for a long time. Considered making a few test stages (flat, constant uphill, no wind etc.) and seeing for myself as I've seen a lot of mechanics being explained in different ways but no proof was ever put forth :P

@@BenjiNaesenTV That’s what I learnt from Killrob, but when I started playing PCM myself it always seemed like mountain was the go to stat for speed and hill is just how quickly the red bar is used up above 85. I made a climber/sprinter pro cyclist mode and found that Hill is still GOATed on puncheur stages, since even though I had 85 mountain on my rider and would pace at 85 on 10% 5km climbs so that puncheurs would lose red trying to keep up with me, Alaphilippe could still keep in contact and at the top, if he attacked with only 60-75% of his red bar left, he would outlast me even when I follow his wheel perfectly.

You should do it different. Make a train how you did except bernal, and choose 1 rider to protect bernal keep manually bernal at the front. At the last climb the ai always kills itself so be sure you keep yellow. possible you lose connection for a bit, but you wheel them in later because they are death.

@@BenjiNaesenTV when watching your videos, maybe it’s the races you are doing l, but the landscape seems to change a lot, you even had cows at one point, I literally see the same tree about 49 times a game 😂, just wondering if it’s a MOD or just certain races you’re choosing.

It’s a combination of the stage maker having put more time in certain stages, and me playing on highest graphics so it shows everything.
