Vegeta's Ultra Ego is a better match for Gohan's Beast form as it's an offense based form it has a massive Ki reserve and your ki level and power level increase as you take damage wisely. Perfect counter to Gohan's Beast form

Since the fans turned against the idea of Gohan receiving the torch, he doesn't get much screen time so he doesn't get to be seen training to get stronger. So he just gets power ups from nothing.
