I tried it and it worked, only I did it in a Chapter 2 save file, but I had to slightly move my character upwards when on top of the chest, or else I would fall off only doing light horizontal movements I just realized doesn't this mean that you could actually get past Zess T.'s blockade? My childhood aspiration has come true!

You can get passed zess ts blockade using hazard respawn glitch and going through rogueport sewers. You cant do it using the super jump method from my knowledge. My video on getting to far outpost in prologue shows how.

Yeah I was referring to breaking the large yellow and grey blocks in the sewers to get to west Rogueport. So with this, we can skip to Chapter 6 during mid Chapter 2 with the Super Boots, I don't know of any way to get into the teleporter room in the english versions to skip even farther.

Normally you'd need the ultra boots from chapter 6, but instead you just have to die and have a seizure on a doorstep. I wonder if you can do this with a Wii remote...

I’ve just about given up. I’ve gotten to the point where I can get on top of the chest every 4 or 5 tries, but I just can’t fall off of it onto the platform. Mario just jumps completely off even with the slightest taps.

Hey Zan could you answer a question for me please? Is it possible to do a koops buffer using zess ts cutscene? Im unsure if it requires a puni, file swap, and does stepping on contact lens make the game realize marios on ground?

Hi so sorry I didn't see this until now! For Koops, you need the partner to be deactivated and your action (jump) to be cancelled by the cutscene on the first frame. In the zess t cutscene, the partner is not deactivated and thus fails the conditions needed. I hope this answers your question!

Works but not the same way, you’ll need a switch with magic and edizon activate the moon jump to get there then deactivate moon jump and try just on the border. I done 5 mins ago in 1.0.1. I didnt try the way the video does

TIP FOR KOOPS BUFFER. For me when i attempt koops buffer i never actually see mario jump on koops BUT the game still receives an "X" input. All i see is mario walking towards line. I start the koops buffer halfway on the tile. I can never seem to get the storage jump from the way this video is shown. Unlike this video you'll do koops jump and dialogue starts, thus giving you an indication it worked. But the way I only seen it happen for ME is there isnt an indication. So you have to do alot of guess work and be confident and patient.

Practice until it's consistent! You're right that there's not really a visual cue to know if you have it or not, so you have to trust that you did it right!

@@mmafox1018 theres lots of different ways to get jump storage but this is the easiest one because of the save block beside it for fast retries. Most other spots we've discovered are a 1 try only scenario

UPDATE: After more testing I was able to improve upon my original comment. As I said in my OP when getting the storage jump I received no animation from koops, thus no indication that it worked. After failing for days to get the Ultra Hammer I was ready to give up. But I kept at it. The Complete square tile before the line is where I started making adjustments. I stood at the line of the tile that's BEFORE the actual cut scene line. Once at that line inched into the square. The next and FINAL movement is where Mario touches the line. This doesn't require any dexterity as I just tilted the control stick forward and at the same time held in the X button. I was able to get this to work pretty consistently. I only recommend trying this if you're having a really hard time with the method in Zen Sav's Video

What happens if you trigger the Super Hammer event in Glitzville while you have the Ultra Hammer? Does your hammer get "downgraded"? Because this would prevent finishing the game "normally" if so, since you can't get the Ultra Hammer twice, right?

If you grab the super hammer after ultra hammer, you're hammer stays as the ultra hammer. You also cannot re get the ultra hammer. Once that chest is open it stays open

If you try to jump after koops buffering into the line you won't leave the ground. But you'll also lose jump storage once you jump so the only way to really tell is to trust yourself. Watch the controller inputs!

Im Doopliss no unlike paper mario 64, the highest upgrade is kept upon opening a super/ultra chest. Therefor getting the super hammer after the ultra results in the ultra hammer still being kept

That means you didn't gain y speed before jumping. You have to walk up a step and then jump. otherwise you will do a glitched jump and not leave the ground.

How you know the jump is stored

If you jump and mario doesn't leave the ground, you know you *had* jump storage. When you jump with jump storage you lose the storage (cause you jumped). Mario will do his jump animation but he won't leave the ground if you had a jump stored.

Discount Chocolate you can use this method to do uhe at almost any point in the game since jump storage carries through save files. You are correct that we don't get it in prologue in the speedrun, but rather before chapter 3 to skip glitzpitz fights.

I don't see how it doesn't save time. you go through prologue, save, open up the other save to get the glitch, come back and get the hammer, continue on. no need to do everything twice.

I'm guessing that since you need to Super Hammer in order to initiate the cut-scene where Jolene sees you with the documents you got from the room that requires the Super Hammer to get into, just breaking in with the Ultra Hammer will just skip over the Super Hammer introduction.
