Yes the drummer was so good 👳 saw them play with my friends band the xpozez in a youth club Huddersfield in about 1982 and ultra-violent just blew the place apart . They were that good !

Gotta b the piece o plastic that totally epitomises everything that was good about early 80's punk. The bass riff at start of 'where angels dare not tread' is forever seared into my brain thanx to my best mate playing it about 10,000 times every time we had a speed sesh. Appy daze. Pretty cool that Colin Richardson worked on this single. He did a lot of heavier music later on Slipknot, Carcass, Machine head, As I Ly Dying, Fear Factoryt, Bullet for my valentine and so on (Exploited etc). Good sound on this one,. He also did El Salvador Insane, Varukers and some more. Think he was a big part of this singles and some others greatness....earlu days for him.

funny...this is ultra violent, they released this in 1983, 83 being the murder number in gematria, now slipknot has a song called gematria, the killing name...even as i lay dying had a murder scandal. wonder what weird shit that goes on in this industry we dont understand yet.

1st time I heard this not only did it blow my top off but I actually thought they were American,perhaps 'cause I got it on tape from the States with Poison Idea,Cause For Alarm,D.R.I and Negative Approach....my American pen-pal neglected to tell me they were Brits...and since they didn't do much else it was years before I learned they were from the UK...shame,such a promise...wonder what happened to them?!?

So while in the public eye punk may be outdated, to people like me we will always see value in it. Also - look up the channel "No Deal" and you will find plenty of emerging hardcore/crust punk music.

I bought two copies of this from the local record shop in 1984. In the hope that they mated, maybe? No idea. But yup, bought two at the same time. It was recorded in 1982. "Dead Generation" was tighter that anything the Exploited recorded in that same year.
