I noticed how the Cerberi have completely redone animations as well. They move a lot like stop motion characters now, which goes really well with their overall theme of being living statues. It reminds me of the Talos scene from the Argonauts, which, intentional or not, is cool as hell (is full).

I'm sure its simply a product of change but I personally disagree. These animations may "fit" the model more, but a creature of concrete moving hauntingly smooth in a supernatural manner """"""fits""""""" being a creature of hell a little more, yknow? @@fronsk7156 I mean, that depends on the art direction, if the idea that it is indeed a statue, moving like a statue would, then this is better on the merit of it being more accurate to the art direction. And I would bet it actually is, since, you know, we got this change? Edit: On a closer look at the originals, you can definitely see that they were already on the same vibe, as in, stiffer than the animations of the other enemies, so it's not even them moving "smooth"

I like that they switched from the waking up animation to be smooth and the attacks choppy to waking up be choppy and the attacks be smooth, the smooth animation for the standing up Cerberus made it look as if it was glued to the stone with a 50 cent super glue, the new one genuinely feels as if the Cerberus was breaking itself away free from the stone

I like how towards the end of the video in where the bosses are defeated. There were multiple pillars that (most likely) contain elevators down into hell like the one we go through as the player. It really does show that we aren’t the only ones down here which makes our journey feel less important… Can’t wait for the revamped levels!

I know there’s people complaining about these updates instead of work being done on layer 8 but this was a very good move and will make the completed game feel like one piece of work than a sequence of smaller projects put together (the old prologue and layer 7 were so technically different it may as well have been a separate game)

I feel like no one talks about it, so I'm gonna say it, old hideous mass and old cerbs looked way better, why? because they looked lore accurate, in the sentry entry, it says the machines purposefully reduce blood consumption by reducing th graphics of their cameras, so the lower quality textures were way better

This looks phenomenal. All of the revisited stages have, and this one is no exception! One thing I was really hoping for - though it might be a bit over-the-top - was a minor change to the cerberi statues right at the end, next to the exit. I think it'd be super cool if those statues and those statues alone stared at the player as they walked down the staircase, as a sort of constant reminder that these statues will be watching in future levels (since we've seen them a few times beforehand and these two coming to life is a big reveal) and that any of them might come to life to attack like the bosses just did. As a sort of "We're watching you..." Just a thought! Thanks for the update videos! ❤😊

Cool idea, but it might be a problem as in the cerberus’ terminal entry it says that they require intense focus to keep their ball of energy in their hands, so, them looking at you here might go against that entry. It is still cool, and plus, Akita always finds a way :)

Yeah the new heat effects are a lot better now (and they ESPECIALLY help 0-4 as well). I'm just hoping we get revisits for Lust and Gluttony this update as well, and then maybe the act 2 levels later on with the rest of act 3.

It's very easy to forget that there are supposedly other machines that are venturing through hell just like V1 is. While it is likely that V1 is one of the strongest, he himself isn't solely responsible for "purging all life in the layers". There's an entire ARMY of machines that are ravaging through hell, V1's just part of the horde.

These upgrades are so cool; they really feel like the core vision coming to life. I would love it if the old level designs and models were still available in the finished game, though. Maybe as additional secrets/unlockables? Just for nostalgia and preservation's sake. I don't know how much work that would be, but it would be a great addition IMO.

Whoa, this all looks amazing! I was gonna talk about how good the heat in the air looks as well as wondering where that door just before the Cerberus area could go, but now, I'm stuck on how GREAT those jerky, stiff, and unnatural animations look on a demonic statue like Cerberus, as well as how you can see what appears to be more of those 'Hell elevator shafts' in the distance of the void at the end.

Fr, I really want to see updated skyboxes because I think it's literally just the same one for all levels, just recolored lol. Seeing giant towers in the horizon lust would really sell the idea that it's supposed to be a giant futuristic city rather than just having that one compressed texture.

yo hakita I listened to some of your other songs than the ultrakill ost and WHY THE HELL ARE THEY SO LONG, LIKE HOLY SHIT 24 WHOLE MINUTES, how much dedication did you put into those songs dude, 24 minutes of playing instruments (I know it probably took longer than that so you could record drums, piano, guitar, etc so you could combine them into those amazing tracks)
