Great video. I have the 30 degree version and love it. It is everything you said in the video. I find it to be extremely warm. I am now thinking about going with the 0 degree for winter. See you outside!

I have considered the same thing. I slept in a sleeping bag last night, which I hadn't done in quite a while, and I didn't like it. I prefer the quilts now.

great review! I've been looking at this quilt for my upcoming Appalachian trail thru hike in the spring, I've been debating on the 15°or 0° quilt
@BackpackingGearNut2 жыл бұрын
I sleep warm, so the 15° works for me, but I feel the zero would be better if you are a cold sleeper. As much as I don't like wearing restrictive clothing, if I'm down at that 15° mark, I can always put on layers of clothes to create more insulation for me. The good thing is if you go with the 0°, it's easy to regulate the temperature, so I don't think you'll be too hot on warm days. I hope that helps!

I thought about getting the zero because you are right. There is hardly a weight difference.

OV quilts are comfort rated for men while wearing a base layer. I have a 15 and 30, love them both.

I have grown to really like their products. They have done an excellent job updating all their stuff, and their designs are very nice. Since I spend my money on everything, I like well-made, well-supported, and of good value.

These look great. I’ve been using Rab sleeping bags in winter but I definitely want a quilt for summer. Cumulus look very nice but these Outdoor Vitals do too.

I really like outdoor vitals. They provide a good quality product for a reasonable price in my area. I think that's why I have so much other stuff. As you know, backpacking gear can be costly, so it's nice when you've got a small company still in the stage where they really care about their customers and the quality of their product. I keep thinking I need to try some other quilts, but my outdoor vitals quilt is fantastic, so it's hard for me to invest my money into another quilt.

@@BackpackingGearNut I can relate to that, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

Thanks for the info on the quilt and awesome video. I was wondering what sleeping pad you use with this quilt.
@BackpackingGearNut2 жыл бұрын
I used a big Agnes Rapide SL. I filmed a video for my sleeping pad and will try to have it out within two days. I also made a video of the overview of my sleep system, which I'll try to put out quickly.

Thank you for the video. I got the Big Agnes Rapid based on your recommendation. Thanks. Do you still feel the same on this quilt? It has a lot of negative reviews on Amazon

I love my quilt! I would repurchase it. I've had a lot of nights, and this quilt has had zero issues. When I first purchased it, one baffle was missing the down, and without hesitation, outdoor vitals paid for me to return it and sent me a new one out, and the turnaround time was four or five days. I have since purchased about eight items from them with no issues. And because of my experience with the quilt, I know that if there is a defect in manufacturing, they stand by their product based on my experience.

What type of straps do you use with this quilt for a wide sleeping pad? The standard straps that come with it don't really fit a wide pad.
@BackpackingGearNut7 ай бұрын
how wide is your pad?
@Taffer-bx7uc7 ай бұрын
@@BackpackingGearNut it's a 25" wide Big Agnes Rapide SL Insulated Sleeping Pad.
@BackpackingGearNut7 ай бұрын
@@Taffer-bx7uc the straps that came with it are a loop and loop around the pad and slide them down the pad into position the clips are not too clip to each other. They are to clip to the quilt.. They should fit. If this doesn’t help email me my email is in the information for my site. Send me pictures and I’ll see if I can come up with a solution for you.

I had a horrible experience with outdoor vitals. Their gear is great but if you need to return something they are the worst. They will inspect your return and if it’s not in new unused condition they will deduct 20% from your refund. Now this seems fair but my return has a pulled thread in the hood that there is no way I could have caused and they wouldn’t give me the benefit of the doubt and took 20% of the top. I tried reasoning with them to no avail. They give cottage industry proprietors a bad name. Beware. Not a hater just telling the truth.
@BackpackingGearNut3 ай бұрын
Sorry to hear you had that experience. I used their gear for a long time before they even knew who I was and have had good experience returning things but the last time I return something was now over two years ago. Thank you for the comment. I hope you enjoy my videos!
