I put the Ultra Galaxy Fight set between Taiga and Blazar on my shelf because New Generation Heroes came out during the second half of Taiga's run despite taking place between R/B and Taiga.

I enjoyed the Absolute Conspiracy and Destined Crossroad arc since it focuses on the Ultra warriors battling in other planets instead of Earth and interacting more with each other than the solo Ultra series. It reminds me of those classic Ultraman mangas in the 70s and 80s where the Ultra warriors battle different enemies although the author focuses on Zoffy and Ultra Seven so much that everyone else got sidelined. I love one particular scene when Taiga and his friends return to M78 and meet Ultra Father and Ultra Mother who are his grandparents. Taro reprimands him to address both elders by their given rank which Ultra Father says is all right as Taiga is their adorable grandson. (Although Tsubaraya also never mentioned who are Zero and Taiga's mothers) Furthermore, it also shines by giving more of the least popular or less known Ultra warriors a chance to shine like Powered, Great and USA team. Love the fight of the OG sixth Ultra Brothers vs Juda which shows how current special effects made the battle awesome. I am more of a fan of the Showa Ultra brothers up to Mebius. The new generation Ultras are fine but very gimmicky but this can't be helped as Tsubaraya needs to follow the trend like Toei did for their Kamen Riders and Super Sentai series.

As a collection of specials, I'd put it at the very end, with other specials, crossovers and EX material. It's what I do with Sentai/Rider.

It's so cool to have this set! We're getting so close to having all of Ultraman on physical media! With the other Reiwa era shows having leaked listings, what do you think the release order will be? They've also announced Ultraman USA, so hopefully once the Reiwa era shows are released, they go back to some of the older content they missed.

Hey Soundout, this is very unrelated to the video so my apologies, but with the recent death of David Lynch I'm curious to know what your thoughts are on his works, if you have any. He's my favorite director of all time and I know you've seen a lot of films so id figure I'd just go ahead and ask. If you haven't seen much of his stuff, no worries! But if you haven't, I would recommend checking out Twin Peaks. Love all the videos, keep up the good work!

I had to get this set. I never got to watch Destined Crossroads or the Regulos specials. The biggest reason I got it is because it's all directed by Sakamoto, so the fights were gonna be good no matter what. Worthy release since I also bought the original Mega Monster Battle Ultra Galaxy Legends the Movie Japanese Blu-Ray before it got released under Mill Creek. I'm always willing to check anything Sakamoto works on besides Power Rangers and Guyver 2 Dark Hero

You will notice that the timing for the subtitles on this set is a little weird. That's because they are, with the exception of New Generation Heroes, dubtitles. That's unfortunate, but the English dub is very faithful to the original dialogue. It's not very distracting, unlike the dubtitles on the Ginga S movie. By the way, on your shelf, Ultraseven X should be put before Superior 8 Ultra Brothers. The show is from 2007, while the movie is from 2008.

That’s a bummer but luckily the dub is a direct translate I have Superior 8 there next to Mebius since it takes place in Mebius’ series timeline

@Soundout12 My opinion is that the movie is its own thing, set in an alternate universe. There's really no connection to the Mebius TV show. On the contrary, it relies more on the viewer being familiar with the first four Ultraman series and the TDG trilogy. And for me, this movie is really the conclusion to the classic era of Ultraman, so having it right before the MMB set, which is truly where the New Generation era found its roots, is fitting.

Ultra Galaxy Fight is like my favorite thing Ultraman has ever done, so glad they made it into a Blu-ray
