Once, shards of evil called “Devil Splinters” were scattered across space, throwing the galaxy into chaos. At that time, Ultraman Z, a new member of the Inter Galactic Defense Force who sought out Ultraman Zero as a mentor, comes down to Earth while chasing the Ferocious Space Shark Genegarg. Ultroid Zero has some great features: rocket propelled punches, knee rockets for flight stabilization and that sweet looking D4 system. I love all those tubes leading to the reactor on his chest.

4:33 Took me awhile to realise but there's a minor change in the opening during delta rise claw's scene In the original airing they didn't have the geed, zero beyond, and belial atrocious ultra medals sliding transition in the opening but now they do A nice little touch there

I really love Sakamoto's directing. When Z was hadnling those 2 kaiju by the water, we got some great shots. He made them look intimidating and fierce and I honestly think those design are more on the goofy side.

"A weapon to surpass Ultraman!" Of course. I'd call a weapon that shuts down after using its ultimate attack once is a resounding success. I do like the parallels of it being Zero. No better way for Z to see his progress than to beat a version of his master. And I don't know if I'm reaching, but Ultroid Zero awakening dormant kaiju does kind of remind me of Belial's first plan in the movie he first appeared in.

The only thing I don't like in the entire series is why Ultroid Zero? Zero only appeared in one episode and most likely the humans won't know the name of Zero compared to Z. Going with Ultroid Z would make a lot more sense since Z has been on the Earth defending the land from monsters far longer.
