Ultra marines only have 500 worlds, WHY DO WE NEVER hear about their guard regiments?!?!? Literally ruled over by Astartes, THESE WOULD BE as HARDCORE as Cadians.

Yeah, I'm honestly kind of hoping for an Ultramar Auxilia codex supplement for the Astra Militarum. There are several worlds with very different environments and cultures; that's a gourmet recipe for a few different Regiments. I can see Mcragge soldiers serving as the "Cadia" of the Auxillia-the most prolific and proficient type of regiment in the Realm with a jack-of-all-trades approach to warfare, with specialist regiments being formed from the Ultramarian vassal worlds. Two ideas of mine are the Knights of Konor-a heavy infantry style regiment benefitting from a close relationship with the Mechanicus in the form of really high-tech weaponry and equipment-and the Avengers of Iax-an Anti-Chaos/Haz-Ops regiment formed from the survivors of the Iaxian PDF after the Death Gaurd razed their planet.

@@kubikkuratko188 Agreed! To be honest though, I would love for them to be introduced only for them to have an inferiority complex to Cadians. Or to at least be a guards regiment that can go toe-toe with the Tau

The thing is knowing some people in the community they would start bitching and whining on why Ultramarines got basically their own little imperial guard regiment

I can imagine each chapter would have their own guardsman in their armour design (Looks at world eaters and night lords) Oof OK maybe some

They usually had regiments assigned to them depending what Expeditionary Force the Legion was in command of, and what others they were attached to. They'd all likely have a PDF force as standard for their world, but judging the Imperium acting like the ancient Roman Empire, I can imagine an insistence by the Emperor that native regiments not serve where they were raised in order to preserve their loyalty, so they'd not necessarily serve aboard their host Legion's fleet. The only reason the Ultramarines have the Ultramar Auxilia serve with their Legion is because they're so prolific builders, administrators and recruiters, so there's so damn many regiments of the Auxilia that they can afford to defend the 500 worlds, serve aboard the Ultramarines vessels and offload some to serve with the wider Imperium. That's not to say that there likely weren't still foreign regiments serving aboard XIII Legion vessels that had likely been there before the creation of the Auxilia.
