Chris, do you know what would the Citadel equivalent be for the “aquamarine” blue used for the light effect? (second blue paint)
@chrisminipaintsАй бұрын
The paint used is Molotow Shock Blue Middle, Hex value is #59a8cd as for Citadel equivalent, I am not sure, I don't have one that would quite match, Temple Guard Blue is not far off but I think it would need to be lightened a little.

I've recently been lamenting the state of youtube warhammer painting videos recently, there's too many gimmicks and everyone covers the same things, ironically while trying to avoid doing simple painting videos. I really appreciated watching your video, it was a great, high quality video of well done paintjobs, just what I want! Subbed.

Thank you for the kind words, I really enjoyed making this one. I am not trying to do anything special, just trying to show the paint process.

Very cool. What thinner did you use for your citadel paints?

Hey Chris, great video again. Question about Molotow. I have tried them a few years back as Marco Frisoni has recommended them even as a sort of primer replacement. That being said I have always had absolutely atrocious results with them. They never seem to stick. I have even come back days after the initial airbrush coat only to have the paint rub off in my hands. Is there a secret to using this paint or what?
@chrisminipaintsАй бұрын
I haven't used them as a primer myself, I have noticed some problems when using contrast paint over them. Locking in with varnish will probably help but I am still experimenting with them a bit.

@@chrisminipaints alright sounds good - seems you had a relatively good experience with them this time. Let me know if you find hiccups or hacks

Hey Alex, maybe try to remove the oils and fats from your fingers / assembly before priming. Maybe that helps, I’m still unsure why some primers stick and some not. Also Vallejo has at times inconsistent quality, so in can happen for example 1 out of 10 primers is bad. Hope that helps. Cheers

@@ricardoflummiremus so I actually have tried this - over time I've become a bit more anal in terms of how I prep models, and most models I will actually wash in sunlight dish soap once I am done assembly. Admittedly the first time I did NOT do this when trying to raw dog Molotow paints like Marco Frisoni does... but the second time I tried I was dilligent and it still rubbed off. I found similar issues with scalecolour paints. Meanwhile TTC, Vallejo, GW, and AK all seem to stick wonderfully. Any other ideas though I am open to suggestions.
