Dude, Thank you so much! My father has Alzheimer’s and he lost 3 remotes in 6 months. I was just in hospital, got out, bought another one, I forgot the batteries, I left it open at his house, came back next day, and instructions were GONE! Well, I looked all over www to find a pdf with no luck! You really saved me a trip, until he loses this one…. Take Care, Gregary Dark

You then have to try other codes until you find a code that has full function.

If you programmed your other device such as stream but input button to switch is not working. Press the TV button at the top to control tv settings such as input or tv menu, When you switch input back to other device such as stream press that stream button at the top to control that device . Short Explanation (Hit the button of what you want to control at the top when switching) 😂

All buttons work except the channel up and down and the number buttons, since I am connected to Xfinity cable I picked the CBL button

That means you are using an incomplete code. Some codes have incomplete function but the true code will control everything. Try another code until you find the true code.

This has no directional buttons. My main screen requires choosing watch options such as media netflix or vudu. I am not able to mive it on my input screen to choose :(

Most likely you are using the wrong code. Some codes will have limited function. Try different codes until you find the true code that controls everything.

Yes. The input button will let you select any one of the HDMIs on your TV.

Hello thank you for the video. I've have this exact same remote and it's been perfect, etc. However, whenever you get a chance and see this comment a quick question: Seems like, by mistake (it happened in the split of a second) I touched some button and now I CANNOT GET BACK TO HDMI2, which is where my Laptop connects to the Remote Controlled-TV. Yesterday I did some Troubleshooting with a Technician from the manufacturer and we ARE ABLE TO SCROLL UP AND DOWN through the MENU, but, THERE SEEMED TO BE NO KEY TO PRESS TO actually SELECT/CHOOSE/CHANGE etc. The summary was that either that particular key (whichever it was, we tried several keys, arrows, etc) was NOT working or that we WEREN'T ABLE to actually find what needed to be pressed, once we were on HDMI2 to keep it there. (We tried almost everything, so it was just puzzling. The advice was to maybe buy a new one or --for me-- to find the friend who set it up for me many months ago and see if he'd have better luck, etc. Basically, the Bottom Line Question is: What do you Press to CHOOSE HDMI2 once you've scrolled onto it?? And if the answer is something we tried (we spent 1 hour or so troubleshooting), then the next step would indeed be to buy a new Remote. Volume, Power Botton, everything is working fine, but somehow it moved from HDMI2 which is the only thing I use. THANK YOU FOR THE VIDEO on this Universal Remote.

I have two TVs and I tested this remote on both. Each TV behaves differently. Once you have programmed the remote for each TV, at my bedroom TV you have to press the "input" button to bring up the input menu. Once that happens, pressing the "input" button again highlights a difference source, and if you keep pressing it, it will keep moving to a different source until you find the desired source, and you leave it alone, and then the input menu simply disappears after about 8 seconds and that source remains selected. So, for example, if you want to move to HDMI 4 from HDMI 1, you push "input" once to bring up the input menu, and then press the "input" button another three times to highlight HDMI 4. Then simply don't do anything else, and the menu will disappear. Now you are on HDMI 4. -- My other TV -- At my living room TV it works differently. On this TV pressing the "input" button brings up the input menu, but pressing the "input" button again does nothing. To change the source, for example from HDMI 1 to HDMI 4, you have to use the [Channel +] and [Channel -] buttons ON THE TV, not the remote, to highlight a different source, and once the desired source is highlighted, you leave it alone until the input menu disappears and that source will now be selected. But remember, you have to use the [Channel +] and [Channel -] buttons on the TV itself, not the remote. If you try the Channel +/- buttons on the remote, nothing will happen. So the remote on this TV can only bring up the input menu, but to make a choice you have to use the TVs buttons. If your TV is still not working, you might want to try different codes to see if any of them resolves the problem. Let me know your TV brand if you lost the manual and I'll send you the code list. That's all I can think of right now. I forgot to mention that you have to restart your computer otherwise it will not send a signal to the TV. P.S. I have no idea why KZbin strikes out my text.

@@skywind007 Oh my, Thank You for your reply! In REF the P.S., there is 1 bit of my MSG above which does have a similar line over the text, I think it was because I used 2 "dashes" (I believe they're called, instead of the other symbol ( ), to put the 2 words that show the "text strike", as you called it. But okay, got your Reply just fine. In REF the Universal Remote: I actually have everything, the Box, the Instructions, User Manual, the Codes' List etc. In the "User Manual" there is a Tech Support 1-800 Number, which I called, and my experience was extremely very positive. The Tech Agent was very good with all the Troubleshooting we did. At one instance he indeed directed me to Input (try-out) a new "Code" etc., once I gave him the Info of my TV, especially as it's recognized by my Laptop. (Once the TV is OFF, the Laptop changes to its own internal "video/audio" "system?" and once I turn the TV back ON, the Laptop immediately switches onto the appropriate identification of the connected TV; so basically, we agreed that the Laptop was indeed sending/receiving the signal "to/and from" the TV (I'd called it "recognizing" the "external" Device, in this case, a TV Set. (I use quote symbols cause I know I'm not using the language of expert computer Technicians such as yourself or the Tech Agent from the ByJasco dotcom from the 1-800 number. It's actually very good they have Tech Support. But, we did try both of the examples you mentioned. (When having to manually use the buttons on the TV itself I had to put the phone down etc; and when troubleshooting on the Remote itself, it did what you described on both examples BUT it did NOT "remained in the selected source." (Here I think you mean that it did not remain, it did not select, or, it did not stay in the HDMI number I needed (in my case, HDMI2, which is the one to which the Laptop "connects?". (HP Technicians set that up for me; and the Remote was set up by a local friend of my relative who brought him to my home to do other non-related housework. It just so happened that my previous Universal TV Remote had broken, and, several weeks earlier, I had purchased the GE Ultra Pro Universal Remote you featured in your Video and, at least for me, it was challenging to follow the steps via reading the Manual. (I found and watched your Video today and it did look much, much simpler to do, etc.). But the local "Tech" set it up and on I went. HP Tech Support helped (via remote support) to connect my Laptop to my TV via the HDMI cable several years ago. But if my TV Remote breaks, then that's for me to set up, etc. Okay, it's going to be faster for me to buy a new Remote in which the feature to select/maintain the HDMI2 I need actually works, than to find the local "Tech" to do the troubleshooting himself etc etc. He got it to work just perfect at that time, and anyway, even when I buy a new one, I tend to think that I will then have to actually find a local "Tech" to set it up, or if I find the same, call the 800 number again and so forth. The ByJasco Tech Agent explained, also, that if the feature to set up HDMI's is malfunctioning on my current Remote, I could use another Remote just to put that back in place and that'd be that. Okay, I was not too concise on this Reply back, sorry. BUT THANK YOU SO KINDLY for your quick help!! My nieces all have those high-tech iPhones. Maybe I'll be calling them. If they can handle a complex iPhone, most likely they'll do (in my case, a non-Smart-TV) TV Remote in a 1-2-3. Again, thank you for your Reply to my question! Best regards.

So this only works for Samsung tv?

No. It will work on any flat screen TV. It is preprogrammed for Samsung TVs so you don't have to do anything right out of the box if you have a Samsung TV. Other TV brands will require you to program the right code. I would exercise caution if you have an older CRT (cathode ray tube) TV because based on my tests, not all of these types of TVs work. CRT TVs are the fat TVs from the 1990s and earlier that were not flat.

i made the mistake of not noticing this remote has no directional selection pad. i cannot scroll thru my firetv menu at all even though they give me a code for an insignia firetv

How do you get a TV to switch from inputs on this controller?

The lower right button labeled "input" switches between your devices connected to your TV. I'm assuming your are asking because pressing that button doesn't work or only scrolls between the devices but doesn't actually select a device. If the "input" button doesn't work (when you press it, nothing happens), you might have the remote on an incomplete code. You should try different codes until you find the best one for your brand. However, if pressing "input" only scrolls around the various devices but doesn't actually select any of them, the bad news is that there is no solution for that. At least not that I know of. In that case you will have to use the buttons on the TV itself, if it even has those buttons. Otherwise, your last option will be to go on eBay and find an original remote for your TV model.
