In this video I will be showing you how to program your General Electric Universal Remote. Whether you have a Samsung, Apple, Sony, Toshiba, Vizio, Onn, Panasonic, or any other brand of TV, this should be a consideration for you. Universal remotes can be very helpful but they are often difficult to program. It's always a good idea to keep the instructions.

Does the remote pull up the Channel Guide (what's on now) for an older Directv receiver (HR24)?

No. I have tried on my three TVs but I can't pull up the TV Guide. I think it's safe to assume that you can't do that on any TV brand or cable box.

@@skywind007 Thanks. It seems to be a very rare feature on low end universal remotes. I know the DirecTV remote can do it but it has too many limitations. I'll just keep using my phone app guide.

I have tried to set mine up with my Cable box, and all I can get to work is the Vol Up & Vol Down.............and also the Input button which lets me switch over to my Amazon Fire Stick. No idea how to access the TV Program Guide or the DVR. Anyone please HELP if you can..............THX!!!

You should try different codes on the same brand to see which one works best. Many codes will have incomplete functionality while others will only power on and off the device. I get the same comments on some of the other remotes that I have reviewed on my channel. The TV Program Guide is always tricky to find and sometimes it's not present at all. By the way, your cable provider might be willing to replace your lost remote for free in some cases.
