Man this was great, it really did capture the feel of an Ultraseven episode. I especially loved that part where they brought back Schumann's piano concerto at 3:22
Ultraseven is so cool. This short film did him justice.

This is a very great teasing concept of an modern Ultraseven episode. While I was bummed there wasn't a fight by the end, it still felt like a great anniversary that dedicates to the history of what Ultraseven is to fans. I love Ultraman in all forms from tokusatsu shows, animation, and from what was shown here, dedicated short films that makes great use of the artistic brilliance of the entire Ultra franchise.

Actually Tsuburaya is very smart in not showing the fighting scene.. Because this movie is intend to be something special and different... Its time paradox..

@@TeaApriliani Also because this could be a tease into this being expanded into its own short film! I want to see how this quality of directing and style can be used for Ultraman battles!
I loved the way they packed all the emotions within a 6min episode.

This was fantastic and touching. It pulled the loving heartstrings of nostalgia in just the right ways. A brilliant "concept movie", I'd love to see this expanded to perhaps a full length movie treatment. Or even a new 2024 Ultraseven mini-series? When I saw Alien *(Spoiler)* it sent a chill through me and I thought "that's a perfect plot point that's been remembered". Just brilliant really. Thank you Tsuburaya Productions and cast and crew!
I love how the supposed antagonist of this concept film definitely feels like he would be an average sinister tokusatsu villain. But then throughout the movie, he grows more genuine and shows off his more vulnerable aspects. That is Ultraman to me.

He didn't mean for it to go this way as he said. A lot of the best villains in the Ultra series are villains who have a good reason to do what they do, but the best ones have lines they don't cross, even in pursuit of that goal. I don't think he knew how deeply personal Seven was involved with Earth, and in Anne. He only knew the surface level of Ultra Seven, not the deep personality he has underneath it all. Seven/Dan is indeed "darker" than his counterpart Ultraman, but it shown it's because he doesn't want to emotionally compromise himself, not because doesn't care. He *cares too much* and that's why tripped up the Alien Pegassa.

Yes yes yes yes. He got swayed by Dan's resolve, a great parallel between the two that transcends all sorts of time.@@girl1213
For once, they make the romance subplot of the Showa Era relevant. Frankly, if Anne is Ultra Seven's second love, then go for it. The old man of the Ultra Brothers deserves some clear cut happiness.
