My 3 liter ultrasonic cleaner uses a tiny 5V SMPS power supply module rather than a 12V zener diode. The SMPS is a small circuit board about 1" x 3/4" x 1/2" and is soldered directly onto the main board like a daughter board. As it converts Mains AC directly into 5V DC for the LED driver chips it cannot be replaced with a standard 5V regulator. It also cannot be ordered as I could not find its part number, RPD3W1, in any of my usual online electronics parts retailers. This meant that I had to bodge together a repair out of whatever parts I had on hand. I ended up removing the module entirely and wiring in its place a small 5V 550ma wall-wort USB charger instead. Worked like a champ!

Hi again, well I have finished checking the two 4 diodes bridges and the 12 volts zener, I desoldered them before checking and found them eorking ok. Also I checked the voltage regulator and also found voltage in it, just wanted ti know ig possible how should I check the power transistors, condensers and remaining components. Do you have a website and email. I am opening the other unit which works erratic to compare the readings, any suggestions will be very much appreciated. Thanks. I downloaded the video and have it on my phone and have followed all the steps but I wasn't lucky when hoping for the zener to be the one.

I have the same problem of getting my electric to that display and control board but my boards are much more complicated with what looks like 2 zeners, maybe, side by side. When I tested them they tested bad like yours but Im worried they might be wired together and tricking me and have nothing to do with the control board, But I traced one and said hey it traces back to the pin out that heads up to the display and control board (possibly some components in between, I was just tracing to make sure they where not together and figured I'd see if it traces back up to the display board.) I guess the next step is to study those two diodes more closely and isolate them from the board and retest. Ok, I tested my zenners and they tested good, isolated, but the transistors tested bad and I waited for them to come forever and replaced them, but no dice. Also a capacitor in that line tested bad, but I cant read whether its supposed to say 1.4f or 1.uf. So instead of pulling the voltage regulators and hunting bad parts, I said I can order a cheap chinese power supply board for probably the same as hunting down all these parts. Its just not getting DC to the transformer or anywhere near the bridge rectifier and frankly it was designed too complicated. So I have a working old ultronics with 1 working head and said what do I want from this bransonic anyway? Well 1, its a full gallon. Where the ultronics is only a 6 pan. 2 its got 3 working big heads, instead of 1 working pad head, if its power supply board worked. So Pulled apart the Ultronics and shove all of its power supply components into the bransonic, wired the 3 heads in series and plugged it into the ultronics power supply and cut a few holes for the ultronics fan and timer dial. Then wired the heater up directly to its power switch and then wired that to the main lines. Then sealed everything up with bathroom caulk after securing everything down, as far as its new innards. And I was looking at the old components on the ultronics and its a much better design. Its circuitry is more simple and direct to the point and its components are way bigger, like an old outdated pinball machines components and it only depends on a timer dial that just runs continuity. Theres no reason why the Bransonic needs to pretend like its "smart" it adds noting besides breakage and unreliability. Also theres no reason why any of its components need to be updated to being so small, dancing on the cusp of reliability, When the big old components fit fine in a big shaker. In fact I just shoved the entire bottom half of the ultronics into the bransonic because it gave me a nice plastic pad to secure it to the bottom of the bransonic with bolts. Those big old components and simple designs are just more reliable. Either Water proof your stuff if youre going to make it all complicated and smart or KISS, but I suspect they do this all on purpose. In fact Im positive because they want their stuff to break on you, while upselling these guys on all its imaginary bells and whistles and "smartness".

Sir amazing Video. I am having trouble with my Ultrasonic cleaner. The PF capacitor 1micro 400v keeps blowing along with the fuse that is 270e connected in pararell to the pf cap. When i replace the cap along wit the resistor it works for 10 to 15 seconds then i see smoke and the cap along with the resistor blows. What could be the issue? Is there a method to check if the transducer is working or is faulty? The cleaner is UC 4060 L. All components look good. Any experience of the same?

Last night I pulled out my HF cleaner and when plugged in no light, nothing. I pulled the zener last night but was not sure what it should read as I have not done too much electronics, just replaced burnt parts. I checked the 7805 and did not get the 5 volts. I pulled the zener and the diode read was the same both ways. I could not find the zener using the number on the side. As you mentioned yours was 12v 1watt I looked at my parts and found a glass one not black that you mentioned. Replaced it and now everything works. Thanks for the help and video.

I have the cleaner from Harbor Freight, it's the Central Machinery brand. I don't believe that it's dual wattage but it does have a heater and this one has a built in fan also. I just took it apart, some have had the problem of the transducer coming unglued from the tank which would have been a simple fix for me but that's not the case with this one. I do have power going to the digital readout and when I switch on the power button the fan runs but the transducer does nothing. Ugh, and I haven't used it very much, maybe 10 times. This components inside look similar to yours but I believe this one has a few more. I do have a multimeter but I'm not very well schooled on using it to check things like this, lol, how bout I just ship it to you and let you fix it for me? 😁

I'm from Malaysia. I've problem that initially completely whole unit without any display with blown fuse. Several diode, S7805 has been replaced with some bad capacitor. After replacement, power LED is lid. However, the 7 segment display or either 30w/50w led is not lid even through I had press the 30w and 50w button. If I measure P1 connector, there's 5v between VCC and Ground. While there's 20vdc between 30w/50w pin and GROUND on P1 connector. In this case, is small board consider good? I actually suspect that the transformer is fail and there's no labelling on transformer itself and wondering where to and how to purchase the transformer Ps: Both 13005 transistor is good.

My cheap Roadstar UC-223 short circuited after some water got in while I was changing the solution. It turned out that the plastic case wasn't completely sealed around the power cord. I opened it up and found out that the fuse and the two transistors were blown. Also the transducer seemed to have come apart from the metal tub. I changed the fuse and the transistors and superglued the transducer back on. I sealed the gap with a glue gun, and put grease around all the other plastic seals. I put it all back together, plugged it in and it powered on. After pressing "ON," it died again, blew the fuse. Perhaps the transducer is blown. Maybe the relay is welded stuck. Anyway into the electronic garbage it goes. I am a bit sad and disappointed, it looked reasonably well made, except for that small hole near the power cord that let water in.
