When I was pregnant with #8 the 2 oldest girls asked my then-only son (there had been 2 others-long story) did he want a brother or a sister. He said, sister. THey then asked if was he sure. His answer went down in family history, "Might as well want a sister cause that's what I'm gonna get." #9 was a boy and time he weaned I begged to let him move into big brother's room. Big Brother was going to take care of him completely!

How sweet 🥰 ... Yes, the little ruby figs are small (we have been growing them here a handful of years). They are about the size of golf balls.. maybe a little smaller. But! That variety is super productive. It will bless your family with lots and lots of figs. We are a bit north of you, but we get often get two crops each year out of the little ruby.. you surely will there!

I pray you had a blessed Sukkot and trip away. We are finishing our Sukkot Tonight into tomorrow. We were able to go camping Tuesday last week to Sunday before it got to cold. Selah took the news with a lot of grace!My daughter cried every time another brother came along but now everyone is grown up and all is well! It is true what the Bible says, “children are a heritage from the Lord, The fruit of the womb is a reward.” Psalms 127:3

I remember my dad coming home from work with this stick in his hand. He went and got the small shovel and then dug a hole and planted that little stick. One of the guys from his work gave him a cutting from his fig tree which was a "Black Mission Fig." That was in 1965 and it is still there and still producing those beautiful figs.

Beautiful walk up that hill. Poor Lacie left below on the hill. I'm glad you planted your fig trees! I wouldn't be surprised that people have been doing that for a long time, using the placenta as fertilizer. The eastern coast Native Americans used to use lobsters as fertilizer for planting corn. Congratulations on having another precious boy. Selah is a great big sister for her brothers and I'm sure she'll know what to do with another brother. Thanks for this Dickson family!

Selah’s reaction was so heartwarming 🥰 When we told our kids we were expecting a fifth member to our family there were mixed reactions. My youngest son was 12 at the time and he was thrilled. His brother was throughly disgusted (16).The sisters (10 and 6)were happy too. That was many moons ago and she is now 24. She is truly a blessing and a wonderful little sis/aunt to her siblings and nephews/nieces. Congratulations on the healthy little boy and thank you for sharing y’all’s lives with us. ✝️🙏🏼❤️

I'm very curious how you guys celebrate the Feast of the Tabernacle? Is there a special festival in South Dakota you are attending? Is it a family 7 day journey? So intrigued! Thanks for sparking this interest in me!
@MikeTheFitFarmer2 жыл бұрын
Hi Katy, thanks for asking about the Feast of Tabernacles. We attended with a church group that met in SD this year for the full 8 days. The Feast of Tabernacles is known as a pilgrimage festival, and those who observe it find temporary dwellings to stay in during the Feast. There are differences in how people observe it; many Jews historically have lived in a thatched hut or booth, which is called a tabernacle. Others camp, others stay in hotels. We attend a formal service every day where we sing hymns, pray, and listen to sermons or other messages about the Feast and its meaning. It's a family-oriented festival where we get to spend quality time with not just our own family, but other people who observe these days. It's truly a highlight of the year for us.

Congrats on another boy for your wonderful family! In my second full-term pregnancy, all my cravings were completely different than the first, so when I had my 20+ week ultrasound, we were shocked to find out it was a boy. The third one was a complete surprise, and my doctor said that we had about a 20% chance of having a girl after already having 2 boys... And we had our third son. My first son actually turns 28 today, and ultrasounds were not as advanced as they are now, but so many people swore I was having twins because of how large my belly was. Each of my boys were over 9 pounds, so I might know a bit about "having large babies"... 😁 Well I pray for a smooth, healthy pregnancy and delivery for you and thank you for sharing some of this journey with us! 🥰
