Awesome accomplishment! Great idea to have some company along the way and an "aid station" at the halfway mark. I did 36 miles for my 36th a couple years ago and this inspired me to go for 38 on my 38th in 2 months.

Wonderfull video You did and what a challenge to celebrate your 40 th birthday. Are You Pro-runner ? I understand if You are and understand if You arent. Happy Birthday Steven! My B-day was on the 7th. 40 miles is an awesome thing to do for your your B-day! Congrats on finishing and with a smile to boot! I did '6' miles on my B-day (not 57. I'm not ready for that yet!) but it was mostly to test out one of my USMC FILBE 3L Hydration Carriers' I bought off of ebay recently. Way cheaper than my Solomon ADV Skin 12 and they're comfy! I hope you got to eat an extra piece of cake after that long run? Again, Happy Birthday! Thanks Steven! Skal!

Impressive 40 mile run, just looked at your stats on Strava!! it took me 8 and half hours to do my first 50K, you did a 40 miler in just under 7hrs!!..
