There is a story that I read from veteran archer Randy Ullmer and, now what I remember is this, I distinctly remember reading about this, chose any given adjustable release, and if that particular release is designed with enough adjustability, what the main trick is, use 3 different releases of the same exact model, set your trigger travel and trigger pressure in 3 different levels, and rotate them accordingly, I'm guessing the big test is getting your mind and muscle memory accustomed to the release, yeah it's a pricey release, a good shot is a good shot, good practice is good practice, and good aiming form and a good pattern is icing on the cake,

I picked up a T.R.U. Ball GOAT release and immediately switched it from thumb button to hinge. I played around with it, and it just seems to click too easily with no way to cool down the click. Then, tonight, my UV Hinge 2 arrived in the mail and I do say it is so much more adjustable. I have my click moon dialed in to where I like it to click, and then my fire moon dialed in to when I like it to fire. The Hinge 2 is a sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet back tension release. These 2 releases are my first ever hinge releases, but I may just return the GOAT release to get my money back to buy the UV Button release.

They make very nice releases. Now you have to try the UV Button 😎

How did your hinge get so beat up?
@MichiganAmBushOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
It's not beat up. It just has hockey tape on it for grip.

Yeah, price is something to consider, but hopefully this particular investment is infact that given one time payoff, everyone's has their own opinion about what they are willing to experiment, one idea of practice as compared to the other, if you don't attempt to work with a adjustability, you might very well develop a little blind spot in your practice, depending on how solid your aiming form is, whenever you're practicing your shooting, and your pattern is a little bigger than you prefer, you might need a shooting buddy to watch your aiming in release timing, from everything I have experienced over the years, archery is as much mental, cause your gonna build a mental muscle memory with your shooting, go through your practice, you will probably notice your most of your wobbleness in aiming, slow your timing down, pick a relatively short distance, cause holding your aim and getting that timing at holding on center of the paper target or the 10 ring on the 3D target, might give you the answer of where you problem might be, cause I that timing that release is a little more important as than working on your possible wobbleness, cause you have blood circulation area within the deers vitals could make the difference between a good blood trail and a lost deer, and it's even tighter in and on the 3d range or indoor tournament shooting, sometimes points are everything,

I love the UV Button. I will say, I’m experiencing creep on the travel with no tension screw though. I set it hot and it creeps out a little

Didn’t change my draw at all. Even if it did I would just adjust my anchor not give up draw length
@MichiganAmBushOutdoors Жыл бұрын
I've heard that it's hasn't had any affect, and that it has, so I think it's all based on what release you are using before the switch, but it's all what feels best and what repeatable. For me, it was a noticeable change which sucks because I like the button and hinge 2.0.
@wayneeden982 жыл бұрын
That blind spot is called complacency, you get to comfortable with something your actually not aware of in a weak spots of your shooting practice,

I feel like if I’m going to spend $350 on a release I shouldn’t be worried about it changing my draw so much, it’s sucks that the neck seems that long compared to other releases.
@MichiganAmBushOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
If you're coming over from an index release it wouldn't be as bad but if you already have a short neck handheld like the wise choice it does suck to lower your draw length more. However, some people don't have to. I'm just one of the unlucky ones that do. I'd recommend seeing if you can try one and determine if you have to adjust it or not. It's worth checking out.

@@MichiganAmBushOutdoors I definitely want to try one. I use a B3 exit now so I’m used to the thumb button.
@MichiganAmBushOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
I think the B3 has a shorter neck so you might be in the same boat with the draw length.

@@MichiganAmBushOutdoors I have always shot index and decided to try a button. I picked up the UV Button and you are correct, my draw length didn't change. I had the owner of my local archery shop verify. I did have to have my peep moved but I knew that going in since my anchor point is much different with a button vs index.
