by far the most intelligent people Ive come across. Does not believe in amenities becs they are overrated. Damn right. Amenities and the maintenance you pay every month for amenities is a complete waste of money. id rather go to a gym or a swimming pool and pay as I use rather than stay committed to pay and not use. A club membership turns out to be far more cheaper and far more useful. Not to buy a house is another smart thing he is doing. when investment in stocks and mutual funds give minimum 12 % returns why invest in property ? Id rather buy open pieces of land in a progressive 2 tier 3 tier small town than buy a house in Mumbai. it is irrationally expensive and the quality of construction is pathetic since last 10-15 years with the flimsy concrete blocks !! this couple is very very practical and thats how it should be. I am impressed.

Brilliant episode, would love to watch more such episodes of returnees to India. Returning to India must be normalized and not gawked at. Many people living in India think that living in Europe/US/Canada/UK is paradise - it couldn't be further away from the truth. Sure, these countries offer better standard of living but what not many immigrants talk about is the difficulties in saving money (especially in today's times), finding a well-paying job that considers your prev work experience/education, subtle racism in workplace, homesickness, lack of immediate healthcare, domestic help, the threat of homeless people attacking you/getting mugged/shot (yes this is very common in US/Canada). Uprooting your life completely and moving overseas for good was considered cool many years ago, but in 2023 I don't think it holds so much value. For a couple of years working overseas is good but not permanently...India has a lot to offer
